Mmmmm... Jam Drops! Thanks, I was planning on baking cookies tomorrow, now I know exactly what.
As for the basic cookies - well if only *drool* The condensed milk itself would cost us $7 and 5 cups of flour another $7 LOL - (GF, DF) so not so cheap for us hahahaha.

I use left over puff pastry and make PIZZA SCROLLS for the kids lunch boxes.
Just spread tomato paste and grated cheese over pastry and roll into a log and slice into 1 cm rounds , place on baking tray and bake.
You can add other finely chopped vegies like capsicum , sundried tomatoes or bacon if you like.
You can also make cheese and vegemite scrolls, or Nutella scrolls the same way.

Aldi does stock free range eggs, think they are around $4.70?
Also 3l of milk is $3.09 and light is $3.69
White bread is $1.09 a loaf, multi grain is $1.79,cant remember the number but it doesnt contian that nasty preseritive
Also anotehr idea is making a casserole in slow cooker, and freeze leftovers. You can wrap it in puff pastry to make a wee parcel, and there is another meal.I do this all the time with leftovers!
Chicken Pie
2 sheets puff pastry(more if u want bigger)
1 chicken breast
200g bacon
2 cups of mixed veges
1 litre chicken stock(i buy in powered in tin and it lasts forever!!for $2)
60 ml cream
cook chix and bacon,add veges
throw in tablespoon of plain flour to thicken.add stock slowly and bring to boil.add in cream and stir.
throw in dish with pastry(cover top with pastry too,but poke in a few holes with fork to let steam out) and cook for around 40 mins or until crispy and golden!
you can also double up and freeze leftovers for when you feel lazy.
Filo is another option-under $3 and will spread over a few meals and healtheir than puff pastry

1kg SR flour
2 bananas mashed
cup choc chips
1/3 cup oil
cinnamon'

you can freeze old bananas u dont use to make muffins and cakes
Savoury-
1kg SR flour
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
milk to mix
corn kernels,grated carrot,zucchinni,cheese and ham
Buy 1kg yoghurt ($3.80 at aldi) and put in plastic conatiners
