I am 30 and my husband 29 I have been diagnosed with moderate endometriosis just over 2yrs ago and had it burnt off at the time. Getting pregnant has not been successful and the doctor recommended going straight to IVF. This option isn't entirely practical due to the cost and the fact the clinic is one and a half hours away.
Can you suggest anything else to try before resorting to IVF, is there any sort of medication and who is the best person to see about this given that my current Gyno/ fertility specialist is recommending IVF. I am concerned that they are recommending IVF mainly because half the doctors at this clinic have a financial interest in the IVF clinic and there arn't a lot of other options to specialists in our area.

Hi
Questions that pop in to my head include; do you need another laparoscopy? Was all the E removed? Were the tubes open? can you try IUI first with Clomid or something similar? Has the sperm test been done and OK? Have your bloods been done? Good Luck. You are young and even if you do need to resort to IVF you will do fine GS

Thankyou for your prompt response.
I was thinking of having another laparoscopy and burn E off again. They tell me I can but it probably wouldn't help me get pregnant it would only be for pain management. I don't recall them saying there was any problems with tubes as after they burnt E they left us for 12mths to try and get pregnant on our own. Sperm tests all came back fine. Bloods done and no apparent problems. They tested blood for evidence of ovulation on only one occasion.
I have asked if there is anything else to try and they couldn't come up with anything and to go straight to IVF.
Do you think maybe I should seek a second opinion?
