Doesn't weight watchers advise not to do the points system whilst pregnant?

I would think a healthy balanced diet combined with exercise is your best and safest bet whilst pregnant

I wouldn't have a clue.. I fell pregnant whilst overweight and am finding it very difficult to control my poor eating habits!

You can do it while breast feeding, but I'm pretty sure they don't recommend trying to lose weight while pregnant. Healthy eating, everything in moderation and some exercise would be safest, just walking if you don't normally do any =) I walk 30mins a few times a week (the further along I get, the harder it is getting lol)

I was so happy to come across this thread but it appears it has been out of action for a while. Am I the only obese pregnant person around? If anyone shows up before April 2014 join me!!

Hi Bubbles! Good luck to you and your husband. I hope you are as lucky as we were. We originally saw an FS years ago and tried a few things but only decided on IVF this year. So grateful to have it work first go. My BMI was only JUST under the maximum amount of 35. I'd love to hear how you go...thanks for dropping by!

Hi love! I'm 2.5 months post op from having gastric sleeve surgery. I've lost 23kgs so far. Dh is going to have it done in march. One way it another I feel we will be getting pregnant this year. Either naturally with his weight loss increasing sperm count or we go Ivf.

Wow Bubbles. That weight loss is amazing! My ob has recommended surgery if I don't lose the weight once bub is born. Scares me though. I didn't think I was big enough to need surgery. Will have to try hard to lose the weight. Good luck to you and your DH.

    hello!

just found out i'm pregnant and wondering if anyone can recommend OBs in perth who deliver at St John of God Murdoch, who aren't too prejudice against overweight people!

I'm terrified to go to my Dr as she has said i am too big, and i have been working on losing the weight but it is frustrating as I am perfectly healthy in every other way

I haven't even had a flu in the last 5 years, she tested my cholesterol and for diabetes and they were negative and she just gives the impression that i am unhealthy due to the weight.

I am a lot more healthy then a lot of people i know and don't drink or smoke.

So really don't want to get an OB who is the same... obviously there are risks, however I know several people who are ideal weights and they still had gestational diabetes....

    thanks
