    Default PGD cycle

    Hello

Just wondering if you could offer some advise re PGD testing.

I am not sure whether to embark on a FISH or CGH cycle with SIVF. Fish can transfer a fresh emby whereas the CGH cycle must be frozen. I am nervous about freezing the embryo's...

Do you what the stats are between fresh and frozen???

    Thanks!!!

    Default PGD cycle

    Hi EBEAR,

Personally, as long as you are with an IVF clinic that performs vitrification, there would seem to be very few disadvantages to freezing and transferring frozen embryos. In the past with slow freezing methods, only about 65% of the frozen embryos survived the thawing process. These days with vitrificatiion ( snap freezing the embryo with liquid nitrogen) some units report successful thawing rates of 90%. There are some papers which recently have suggested a higher pregnancy rate with frozen embryos compared to fresh transfers, and the thoughts are that perhaps the high hormome levels in a fresh cycle have a slightly detrimental effect on the endometrium. If you feel that CGH is a better option in your personal situation, I would not be put off by the need to freeze the embryos.
