My partner and i have been together for two years now. We want to start a family, but we want to do it properly, and we both want to be involved in the process. What we were thinking of doing was to get my partner to donate her egg to me, then use donor sperm, and put the embryo back into me, so i could have her baby technically. So it would be a part of both of us.
I was wondering has anyone heard of this before, or do you know of any clinics in NSW that would do this. We are willing to spend up to $10000

lesbian couples options
Certainly I have heard of couples doing exactly what you suggest. Each clinic and state has slightly different guidelines around such issues, but generally it comes down to whether any proposed option does not cause problems for the welfare of the resulting child. I would approach any IVF clinic in NSW as a starting point. They will require you to see their clinic counsellor and go from there. You would probably be well advised to seek legal advise also to crystalise in your minds the "legal" standing on what would happen if you were ever to split up ( hopefully not!) or in the event one of you passed away. Although this donation of eggs is within your relationship, it still "may" be seen as surrogacy from the point of view of the law, and therefore would likely need to comply with the recent changes.
