Congratulations on the pregnancy and on choosing to homebirth! Just wanted to give you an early 'warning' so that you can be prepared - you might want to clarify the hospital's policy on risk assessment for their homebirth program. Here in SA and I'm pretty sure most of the country, the homebirth framework that we were all so excited about is turning into another opportunity to further regulate. Having had a stillborn previously, I think you might fall into the 'high risk' category which essentially would knock you out of the hospital's homebirth program. I hope I am wrong but you may want to look into it early on so that you can consider your options.
Good luck xx

Thanks Sarahlou
Yeah i have thought about that, and ill be birthing at home regardless
We live 3kms from the hospital (in a rural town so 3 mins drive, no traffic), and DPs mum is a nurse and lives in our street, and im a nurse student myself. And there is a local group i can hire a birth pool from, independent of the hospital etc.
Also, due to short labours i dont think ill make it to hospital anyway, so even if i wasnt planning to home/free birth, then this baby will probably be accidentally freebirthed anyway!

Well.. i've had my first antenatal appointment, and the middie doesn't see the need to classify me as high risk, and sees no reason why i can't attempt a homebirth!! Im so excited, id put a million smileydance emoticons if i wasn't on my phone haha

Yay!! Doing a happy dance for you also! You must have a great midwife - there are plenty around who will push the boundaries I think! Just noticed that your baby girl was a Violet - my 4 year old is Violet! I am about 5 weeks away from my third homebirth and am very happy to share any knowledge with you as you start your homebirth journey!
Congratulations once again - I hope you can relax into your pregnancy knowing tht your care is sorted out!

Hi All,
I've just found out I am pregnant with my third - and this will be my 3rd homebirth and even though I am only about 6 weeks I cannot wait to go through birth. I loved having home water births, and the amazing feeling of trusting my body to let it do what it was made for. I'm on the Sunshine Coast and will be using the same midwife I have previously used. She is the most calming person and even though she has some very alternate ideas - which suit some, but some are not for me! - she seems to adapt to me and my birthing and post natal care. Love love love her! With my DD she was the first person after DH that I told!
Anyway, looking forward to another amazing pregnancy and birthing journey (the last one - DH says no more!)

Hi to all again, major change of plans for the birth of this baby. Or I should say babies! We have just found out we are having triplets!!!
Definitely no homebirth this time do off to hospital we will be going. This scares me to death! Not concerned about the pg complications or worried about the babies, it's the fact that I will be pressured into so much intervention and a c section. I have found an OB who is pro vaginal with multiples but there are a lot of factors that have to be 'just right' for a vaginal delivery.
Will keep you up to date with this crazy journey!

Bummer you don't get your third HB, but you get THREE BABIES!!! That's hella cool.
