Default Miscarriage Question - Help please...

    Hi Ladies...

I had a scan on Thursday, and was told I had a missed miscarriage, as there was no heartbeat, and I should have been 7 weeks, 4 days according to the scan 2 weeks earlier, but around 9-10 weeks according to my LMP.

So, its now not missed anymore, as I started bleeding last night.

My question now, at 3.30 in the morning, is do I wake my DH and DS (who is 26 months old) up to take me to the hospital, or do I wait until morning? I rang the health line who strongly suggested I go in now, but they can't do a D&C until the morning anyway... So what could they do at the hospital for me now?

Pain relief? Is there another danger, and I really should go?

If anyone is still awake, or around, an answer would be comforting around about now. I really don't want to have to wake them up unless i HAVE to, my DH is supposed to go to work this morning...

    Thanks

I would try to manage at home if you can. If the bleeding gets too heavy or the pain is too much go back but generally it is best if you let things take their course. If you want a d&c then go to hospital.

    Katkyle,

so sorry to hear that. I had a MC about 6 weeks ago and did not bother going to the hospital as it was not painful or too heavy in terms of bleeding. I had it confirmed by my OB via ultrasound a few days later. This was my experience though.

My thoughts are that health professionals have to say seek medical attention in case anything happens, if they say it is Ok to stay home and something happens they can then be in trouble so they have to take precautions.

I hope you did what you needed to do and I am so sorry to hear this news, it is an awful thing to go through.

take care and there is a few MC threads in here if you need to talk to someone.
