Kismet, thanks for dropping in and the congrats. You must be getting so excited – not long now. Must also find out about your special cream you used on your tum.

Micca, a heartbeat – how beautiful, that’s a living growing little bean you’ve got in there and you’ve got the boobs and bloated belly to prove it.

Lilbirdy, you should be feeling over the moon – 10 embryos is fantastic. Hopefully you’ll have a few to stash away for a later date too.

Chillie, you are so lucky, what a very special thing your sister has offered to do for you. She’ll make a pretty special Aunty.

SoClose, how’s the decision making going with regards to FS – do you think you’ll move on?

Deelicious, think of it this way – you have 9 times as many follicles as you did the first time…… that’s fantastic!!

Lilly40, hope that AF lands for you real soon. Enjoy your lovely sketches…. lucky you!

to all the others I've missed - hope your all having a wonderful weekend.

AFM – 14dpo and yep, another HPT …. or two. I’m out of control!! I got the bladder wake up call at 4.45am this morning (damn bladder) and used yet another brand called Pregnosis Clear. I got the 2 lines again, but as one was very faint, having become quite the HPT addict, I decided to give my last Clearblue digital test a go as well. Nice!!! A very clear ‘Pregnant’ came up again, and when I removed the cartridge, the line was darker than my first Clearblue cartridge test – which I’m hoping means my HCG levels are rising. So I now have 4 HPT’s sitting on my bathroom bench reassuring me that I just might be up the duff. Only 2 more sleeps til BT.

    Hugs to all Sooz xo

Sooz, I just have this mental image of all those sticks sitting alongside each other saying the same thing and it looks something like this

Thanks, yes, we are counting our lucky stars that we have 10 embies for our first cycle, and DH is so relaxed about this process he's cracking jokes non-stop with the scientest.

Wow what cycle do you do that only cost about $4600? Reg IVF cycle we do cost $7200 with ICIS, I guess $6700 without.

Default Not tired.... Id forgotten what it was like

    Good evening All.
DD is snuggled up on my lap having her afternoon nap at 5:30 while I type. We had a fine afternoon at the footie (footie = jumping castle, scooter riding, sand pit play and some junk food for her). DD is a much better lap warmer than our nonlap cat.

Lilbirdy - absolutely excellent embryo numbers.. grow blasties go.

On an aside- Did someone say that the male genes kick in at day three? How then can the scientists be sure it is egg quality issue if the do a quick transfer (We have had pick up on Mon and transfer on Wed. Is that 2 days or 3?)

Sooz - It must be so exciting. Have you still got a test left for tomorrow am?

Lilly40 - The part of ivf I dislike the most is sniffing the syneral. It often gave me a headache, not sure it had any other werewolf type effects, but quite possible. Thats why I was so surprised then quite annoyed when the fertility specialist counsellor denied much effect from meds on mood/coping. I felt like he was suggesting all emotional problems just in my head. So now DP has a professional opinion that Im some sort of wacko. This just when I was just getting comfortable with from what Ive read here that really I was coping much like others. Anyway, I hope minimal syneral effects this time for your own as well as your DHs sanity.

Deeelicious - 4 or 5 still sounds good to me .

    AFM
Got an appointment with FM for Thurs. Was told not to bring potential donor by nurse as not yet discussed with FM. (by the way why FM used for Dr?).
More importantly, DD didnt wake up at all last night. Only 2nd time ever, usually wakes 3-5 times. Last time didnt wake was when she was about 18 months. Then I woke every few hours anyway to check. Last night I just slept and slept. I feel great. That and having the start of a new plan going here. Usually I wash bed sheets today, but not going to just in case there is something in them which contributed to last nights sleep fest.

cillile I am not sure ? I am still very much on my L plates in this process. However, the scientest told me today that day 1 is day after transfer, which would have made it day 2 for you.

lilibirdy.... fantastic news on the 10 embies now you do the nervous blast waiting...make sure you get a report on day 3 so that if it is not looking good you can transfer then.
Fingers crossed for a couple of good blasts

    Sooz...just keep POASing away....lol...
cant wait to here your numbers on monday, dont forget to get them to check progesterone

Kismet.... thanks for your congrats...you are just such an inspiration... Ive got the proper uss on tuesday and repeat beta/progesterone. Not long for you. I hope the GD is behaving itself

cillile... good luck with your upcoming FS appointment... what great news that DD slept through the night...lets hope its the beginning of a new trend.
We all go nuts on the suppression drugs be it syneral or Lucerin.... I had a huge meltdown on mine... those whom have been around might remember the window catch drama ending up in a CSI murder scene...lol...
The initial fertilisation and growth upto day 3 is dependant on the egg quality, then as cellular devision increases sperm quality has a lot to do with it.... although ultimately with us oldies it is egg quality.
The egg undergoes its first DNA division when it matures in the ovary..to form 2 polar bodies...its how they determine mature eggs. These then combine with the DNA of sperm. However if there is problems with abnormal DNA .. this occurs at the egg maturation stage... but faulty eggs can still fertilise and grow well, you cannot predict DNA quality from embie or blast quality. So its all a pot luck game. But there is a new process coming in the next 2 years which screens the eggs very quickly to determine genetically normal ones...probably through melbourne IVF and sydney IVF. so If we are still around it will help us a lot.....

Lilly...gosh your rebate was not very much... remind me if you did fet or IVF. I got $4900 back from mine... and that was less because of all the out of town uss.bloodtests.
check out this website re medicare.

    http://www.health.gov.au/internet/mb...Factsheet-EMSN

    13201.IVF repeated cycle...should get you back $4900

    AFM
well a slacko day on the couch...I should be called sloth...lol... I just had no energy today adn even crawled into bed for 2 hours. While yesterday I ate all day today I ate hardly anything and felt a little nauseous...
see how we go tomorrow... got a big 13hr day on mondya...sigh....
Blood test and uss tuesday...like Im not counting down....lol..lol...Very nervous..even though I saw the heartbeat Im still anxious as the beats have a big bearing on the health of the embryo and the misscarriage risk.... ie HB<110 at 6w3d-7w has about a 80% miscarrage chance...sigh
So praying for a good heartbeat>120.
have a great sunday...I guess me and the couch will be binding again...

Hi there sorry for crashing your thread ladies, one of my friends from the adelaide thread said i should look you up cos Pippy is going through a similar decision to me re cysts.
Pippy gday sorry for stalking! I too have an ovarian cyst and am looking at the decision to have it out or not - but really dont have very much info (except what i could glean from a 5 minute phone call with the FS!) I had a cancelled cycle last month, they made me wait to see if it went away on it s own, it didnt - it grew 1cm, now i have to decide whether to go on the pill for 2 more months to try and shrink it or have a lap to get it out and over with. Do you know much about the pros and cons of the surgery? Has your FS mentioned aspiration or a shot of pregnyl (is that the one that makes you ovulate?) to get rid of it another way? Are you trying any natural therapies in the meantime? I really hope yours goes away this month its a good sign that it has shrunk so you can start cycling again soon Cheers and thanks for listening! Winzy

Irene, that's so lovely of you. I don't mind you lurking at all. Another HPT this morning and the 2 lines are almost as dark as each other, so I am so hopeful for tomorrow's BT.

    Hugs to all Sooz xo
