In all honesty it would depend on what the diagnosis was. If it was more than likely that baby wouldn't survive pregnancy and labour I don't think I would. If they were going to need lots of invasive care I would have to consider it carefully, bearing in mind the impact on our family and the fact that we live 4 hours from a tertiary hospital.

My original reply was 'no and it hasn't changed. I was faced with the possibility when ds2 was high risk of 3 syndromes and dh and I agonised over our options. We were sure the results would come back with ds having one of the syndromes and we had decided to terminate. As it turned out he was clear. Such a difficult scenario to be faced with that's for sure.

if i want to have more children i will need to have genetic testing done as both of my son's have autism. but even if it came back that i did have marker genes for it or DH did, i don't think it would change our decision to have another child. our boys are wonderful.
And we now have a precious daughter who diagnosis match her brothers. She's the one of the best things to ever happen to our family. Very very lucky indeed.

I have never been in the situation and my heart goes out to all the families that have, I know the decision would not be an easy one. There isn't a right or wrong way to go either!

I do however know I wouldn't continue on with a pregnancy if I knew my baby would either not make it through the pregnancy or would pass soon after birth. I just don't think I would be strong enough to handle it.

Has anyone watched the video being shared on fb called choosing Thomas? I couldn't control my tears. The strength of those parents was amazing!

I would not terminate my child's life under any circumstances. Before or after birth.

If it was a life threatening condition and I knew my baby would not make it I would terminate. I couldn't bear seeing my baby in pain.

If it was downs or something like that, no I would not.
