Yay, I'm finally starting to feel more 'greasy'!! My hair looks much better.... but I'm still not smarter!! Oh well, maybe it would take more than 75mg of DHEA but a new brain transplant for that to happen ha ha...
Merry Christmas to you all.... and don't drink too much champ's that you forget your DHEA!! (that's my biggest problem - remembering to take it!!)

Hey, did anyone have significantly increased sex drive on DHEA?? Must say, I'm lovin' it!! I have so much more energy... The chemist that made it up for me told me that some people decide to stay on it long term at approx 10mg daily, just for the general health benefits... He told me to have my DHEA levels checked with my GP and if low, just continue on the low dose - does anyone know about the long term bad effects of this???????
Also, I've heard on one of these forums that you shouldn't take it during a FET cycle - why??
One more question... if you are pregnant you stop it ?as soon as you find out or do you wait a bit?
AFM - I've been on DHEA now for nearly one month and feeling good. My period this month is 6 days late - of course I thought I was another natural miracle, but POAS was a definite neg. Will start a short cycle as soon as it arrives....

I have been on DHEA for 1 month now. I have an extremely low AMH, and am a poor responder, last two cylces = no eggs. My fertiltiy specialist recomended DHEA, she said although research is inconclusive to it's effectiveness she was 100% sure it does no harm.
Being a curious person and in the medical profession I have access to research reporting on clinical trials and have done extensive research and have found it positive. Effects are small but for someone TTC, a small chance seems like everything.
DHEA is recomended in the literature to be taken for a minimum of three months but the effect still rises for 5 months, after that it is just maintenance.
In short the reasearch has shown a small increase in the number of eggs retrieved and the number of embyos yeilded out of IVF cylces with DHEA, and even some have found an increase in clinical pregnancies. Nearly every paper reported an increase in the embyo quality even if there was no increase in the number. It appears that the younger you are the more likely you respond to the DHEA and pregnancies were achieved mainly in those women who had an increase in AMH levels post DHEA. I reckon more embryos, the more chance of pregancy.
Hope this helps you decide weather or not to go ahead with taking it, I know it did help me and has given me something to hold onto. If this doesn't work, I will have to consider donor eggs, so I might just be desperate.

I also had increased sex drive on DHEA, Prrrrr! Although the biggest side effect I got so far was a natural miracle after 3 months on it (still in shock over that one!!) I stopped taking it the minute I got my BFP on advice of my clinic (although I didn't find out I was UTD till 5 weeks)
I also took DHEA during my last FET, no probs with that according to Dr S. If you read back on this thread I asked that exact same question a few months ago and it was answered by Anemone who did the same.
Jay, I have also been doing a lot of reading about DHEA and its ability to improve embryo quality and reduce chromosomal abnormalites. I do believe it has had a part in getting me UTD when we have had a lot of issues with chemical pregs and concerns expressed by FS about poor embryo quality causing this (and I have never fallen pregnant naturally before!) I haven't had my scan yet, but it will prove me right.
I hope it brings the same success for you both!

I'm SO SO happy for you Starfish! I read on the 35's thread you are happy with your latest blood tests, so I'm watching you re upcoming scan with everything crossed for you!
AFM - AF now 7 days late and this has never happened before. POAS was neg on Monday. Can DHEA delay AF? I usually have a short cycle (24 days or so) but I'm now day 36.... I dream that POAS was wrong and please please can I join you!!! IF no show by Friday I'll get a blood test....

Hmmm Mum4nay that is interesting... Def have a bt if she doesn't arrive. I didn't notice DHEA have any effect on my cycle length.
On this cycle I did a HPT at around 12 dpo on dec 20 which was -ve ( so I felt justified in having quite a few beverages over Xmas!) but then did another at 22 dpo, after days of spotting and it was immediately +ve. Go figure!
Good luck, hope it's your miracle!!

I self-medicated with DHEA this autumn. Started in August, had my face invaded with pimples - and suddenly I stopped having menstrual periods! After about 80 days I stopped with DHEA and finally had a period (and since then, my periods seem to be back again). I´m not sure I dare to take DHEA anymore although I´d want to.

My cycles didn't change at all and my pimples cleared up. I stopped DHEA just after EPU and my skin is awful.
