Thanks for your beautiful message Gardenia. I was thinking the same thing (about wishing I had the chance to donate when I was younger). But with my history, I would have had to cycle in my 20's before all my problems cropped up in my 30's.

I was childless then too, so wouldn't have really fit the egg donor criteria (finished having family etc). It would have been an amazing experience though.

Such is life. Hopefully, I'll be lucky enough to experience it as a recipient

Have a lovely, warm week. It's freezing down here!

    Hi Millie,

You have written such a beautiful ad. I hope that you find your egg donor soon and your wait is short. You will make a great mum, your post has been written with such heart.

    Hi girls,

    thanks Kez.

Andy Gee - I have had some interest from interstate & am looking into this as a possibility but it makes things more complicated & expensive. Nothing is simple in IVFland is it? Worth the effort though. Thanks for asking :-)

    Hi CSL,

It's not a necessary requirement (to have finished having your family), it's just that being an egg donor can take a fair bit of time, and sometimes more than 1 cycle, so it is easier to do it when you are not still trying to fit in completing your own family. There are many donors who donate before finishing their own families, but they are the ones who want to wait a year or 2 before having their next child anyway. The main point is that both parties ensure the donor has minimum interruption to their own lives as possible.

Thanks for asking. It's a good question.

There is also a slight risk that egg donation can permanently affect your own fertility. You would work through those issues in more detail with the counselling sessions.
