    Hi Mave,
Just wondering - have they kept in contact with you very much since approval?

No, they haven't really, which we were prepared for.
We heard from them to read over our unidentifying report, & got the official letter to say we are on the central resource exchange & that they'll check in with us in 3 months to see how we're going & to call & check in with them if I need.

Yeah ok, I guess that's what I expected. It must be hard not phoning them to check in etc. did they indicate that they would contact you when consider you for a case (I have read a post on here somewhere that you have an option of being notified when your family is put forward for suggestion vs only being notified when successful).
My case worker has returned from long service leave and has told me my assessment will commence within next six weeks (but total assessment time will take up to six months), and I have my training starting in a couple of weeks. I have now packed up the baby's room and put everything in the cupboard lol I knew when I set it up that I would probably end up packing it up anyway but hope is such a powerful thing!
Good luck, I hope you get your special phone call soon!!

To be honest, now we're approved & on the list, I find it way easier, & really only think about it if someone asks me about it or if hubby & I are talking about long term plans in the future... I think because now we've done everything we can possibly do & the rest from here isn't really up to us.
It is strange though, to go from fairly regular contact with your case worker, to then kinda nothing...
We love our case worker, & I am confident enough that he knows us well enough to put us forward for consideration without specifically discussing it with us, but when we chatted to him about this, he said it's not really how he rolls & prefers to have us involved from the beginning of any considerations... I'm happy with this & do think its best for us this way too.
We had to complete our training, then all our application, and then had a little wait before our assessment begun, so sounds like it was a different order of process to what you've describe will happen with you. Fabulous to hear it's on the move though!
I'm sure it was fun to set up the baby's room, probably good therapy too!!
I was the opposite... my sis in law gave us our nephews cot years ago, it was stored under our bed & I felt to me like it was a bad omen so it had to be moved out of the house!
And because we've been approved for both A & PC, we have no way of knowing wether our child will be 3mths old or 3years old, so until we know, we feel it's better for us to have nothing prepared.

Hi guys I've been reading all your posts from 2010 or 13 to today

It's amazing hearing all your stories and experiences and a big congratulations to you all for having the love and courage to go on this journey!!

I'm amazed how few babies are adopted... 11 in vic last year was a surprise to me. I think it's got a lot to do with abortion, which breaks my heart.. so many women are not aware they are carrying a baby and not a sack of tissue... I think if people were allowed to talk about it in a loving non judgemental and caring way we could do a lot to help these beautiful mums and bubs.

    My story

I've been married 4.5 years and have been trying most of this time. Lost 3 or 4 babies to early miscarriage. IVF isn't for me. Tried FSH injections, natural therapies, progesterone pessaries, tube flushing, D&C, and everything else basically
DH sperm have improved enormously by stopping hot baths, reducing alcohol (not that he ever drank much just 1 or 2 beers). Menevit helped. His sperm is now 110% but my hormones are out of whack... too much oestrogen, close to no testosterone, very low progesterone. I believe the low progesterone is the reason why I keep losing them. Very hard to get a dr to listen! I'm a bit overweight so working on that to get below 29 BMI as the agency suggested. (Just need to lose another 5 or 6! Yay!)
    I'm 31, hubby 37. We both work.

Do you believe being Christians will reduce our chances of being picked? We're pretty normal people lol

My dad and 2 aunties were adopted, so I've grown up with it being an option and very normal.

Am waiting for first info night and I'm keen on baby adoption.

    Thanks everyone xxxxx
