Last night i was watching a show on SBS about indigenous people.

It had many sad parts. but what interested me was 3 women were made to cross through a path by a white man, that was forbidden to them as it was purely mens business.

when the white man had his way with them, they returned to their tribe and were put to death by the males of the tribe for crossing their laws.

I noticed in me n he's thread everyone encouraged her to let her son cross into 'womens business' ie nail polish, dresses, girl cakes.

(no judgement intended me n he just fascinated)

What I am asking, is if it is okay to encourage modern mothers to embrace this type of thing for their kids. What do you feel about respecting the 'dreaming' of aboriginals? when it includes such drastic outcomes for women?
