Default question about family daycare hours

I want to put Nathan and Skye into fdc next year, maybe a full day (6 or 7 hours). I just got the paper work and it says that booked care is 7:30am to 5:30pm but I only want them in 9:30 to 4pm or 4:30pm (that gives me time to take Hayley to school and pick her up). Do I HAVE to put them in starting at 7:30am to 5:30pm?

No you don't have to put them in that long, that is just the start and end time of the day, similiar to a open/closing time at a day care centre.

No you don't. You make a contract with your carer. And then you sign for those hours. If you pick them up outside those hours then you are charged extra. However remember though that if you decide say pickup 4.30pm and then you pick up child say 3pm you STILL have to pay for the 1 1/2hours. Make sense??

Yes that makes sense. I THOUGHT it might have been open/close hours but just wasn't sure. Glad that was cleared up. Thanks ladies.

Most FDC services have "core" hours which are the hours you pay for regardless of when you are there. So whilst you are there from 9.30 to 4.30 you still pay for the full 10 hours.
