Default What age is a young mum...

    In your opinion?

I hear the term get thrown around a lot for all different aged mums. In my head I guess I consider 20 and under young mums. To me being in your twenties doesn't seem all that young, JMO.

yeah i always assumed a young mum was like under 18 or 20

but most people seem to consider it under 25 which i think is stupid - once you're an adult, you might be a youngER mum, but i wouldn't actually use "young". just my opinion

Hmm not sure! I consider myself a young mum. I fell pregnant with DD at 19 and my second baby will be born while I'm 21.

    So maybe under 25?

Well I'm 21... I consider my self to still being a young mum seeing as though DS is just shy of 2 and a half.

I don't know why but in my head I wouldn't really consider a 'new' mum at 21 young if that makes sense lol... It's late- forgive me of it doesn't

Just wanted to add that when I was pregnant the royal womens in melbourne had a young mums clinic for 18's and under. I loved it- unfortunantly they shut it down shortly after DS was born

Under 25 but thats just because thats how I've come to know the term "Young Mum" to be aimed at.
Personally though I believe under 21 to be a Young Mum.

My friend was 27 when she had her first and I remember her telling me there was a list of classes to choose from and she told the midwife she was interested in the young mums class or something. Apparently the midwife gave her an odd look and said something like "dear, I don't think you're quite that young" but in her head she considered herself a young mum.
