    Default Feeling defeated

Had 2nd appointment with my gyno this morning, and i feel worse than when i went in.

Today i was getting the results of my blood test, making sure that i am ovulating, that kind of thing, but that is all tht i got. i feel like everytime i go in there i just walk out with another note for another test, but no answers.
I ask but all i ever get told is, exercise and take vitamins and do not drink

am i the only one that feels this way, or is there anyone going through the same thing s me???

im so sorry things arent going so well for you. have you thought about going to another doctor? A friend of mine has had such trouble with hers, she's been to a couple. And if you arent happy you have every right to go elsewhere. All the best

to you Nic. Sometimes it really is so hard.

Any particular reason you are seeing a Gyno and not just your GP?

I have changed Doctors as I didn't feel I was getting enough from my previous one and she was just doing the blood tests to see if I was O'ing or not and that was it really. My new Doctor is straight onto it though and has done all my blood tests (she tested absolutly everything) and I am getting an US tomorrow as she suspects I have PCOS, then to see a gyno.

I know what you mean about never getting any answers though.. It does get you so down. I am a bit today about the whole TTC thing too.

I agree - maybe go to another who you feel is giving you something that your current one isn't. I believe that finding the right Dr, specialist etc, is like finding a great pair of shoes....you have to shop around until you find just the right ones...

Started with a general GP and that was like baskhing my head up against a brick wall, when they were testing me it was for absolute useless info, like what blood group i am WTF. so i took a couple of months, hoping that it would happen on its own, but nohin. So i swapped docs hoping that they could help and all i got was 'hmmmmmm.... you need to talk to a gyno, here is a referal' and that was all, not here i a referal i feel that there are ares that need to be questioned. so i got a referal to a gyno, the same one a very close friend had used and raved about. and here i am 12 months on nd still none the wiser, and more and more defeated.

dont mean to winge, just having a really bad day

So are you having really long cycles or you don’t know when you are O’ing? Or something else entirely????

I agree that a good Doctor is the best thing you can have. I wasted a few months with my normal GP but now have found a GP with an interest in fertility.

Have you thought about acupuncture or natural remedies? Are you only any meds yet from your gyno??

    Hope you don’t think I’m too nosy…

If I were you i would find another Gyno. Find one that is a fertility specialist. I wasted 2 years with a GP, then I saw another GP who referred me straight to an OB/FS. Within 3 months of being under that OB's care I fell pregnant. I did have to do IVF, but sheesh I wasted 6 years of TTC trying everything and had unexplained infertility, why on earth didnt i get referred sooner?? Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands kwim.

I dont mean to freak you out, but consider phoning up an IVF clinic - THe FS's (Fertility Specialists) that work with IVF clinics usually have their own practises outside of the IVF clinic, Im just saying phone the IVF clinic and get names/phone numbers for their private suites. It doesnt mean you will end up doing IVF, its just thats where you usually find the very best OB's and Fertility specialists in your area. They dont muck around. If you have been TTC for more than 12 months, they will get things sorted. Its all they do, get women pregnant, nothing else. Dont think of it as you might need IVF, its unlikely that you do. Think of it as putting yourself in touch with someone who could have you pregnant very very soon! And it costs no more than what you would be paying to see your current gyno.

    Hey Nic

I am seeing a naturopath in Sydney CBD - Rebecca at CBD health. That may not be the best area for you but they may be able to recommend someone for you.

Rebecca is brilliant. She has referred us straight to Sydney IVF so that DF can get a SA (this is next Tuesday) and I am getting some bloods, ultrasound etc.

As a PP said, it doesn't mean we necessarily need IVF but means we get to see the best people to explore our lack of success TTC.

I also have TTC friendly supplements and herbs from her.

    Hope that helps.
