Wink UPDATE: Roger David 'blood is the new black' t-shirts

    Hi all.

I just wanted to post for you the emails I received back today from Hon. Tanya Plibersek the Minister for the Status of Women.

The first is the letter she sent to me:

Letter sent to me re: Roger David offensive t-shirts

The second is the letter she sent to Roger David:

Letter from Hon. Tanya Plibersek to Roger David re: t-shirts

Please be patient with the links... they take a little while to load.

Thought you all might like an update.

i just googled it and some news articles came up, the images were fairly unclear but you could get the gist from the text.

    Really depressing.

Has anyone seen anyone wearing one?

Who would wear such a thing?

Honestly waht a message young women must be receiving if men are walking around wearing things like that in clubs etc.

Exactly! Which is why there was such a huge uproar about it.

Hopefully now that they've been 'spoken to' by the gov, maybe the shirts will get removed.

    Good work OJ.

I also liked that it was signed on the 8th March - International Women's Day (and my birthday)!

Just a cute little, perhaps unintentional, things I noticed.

    Well done Gret.

I have to say, some of the shirts I've seen when I've gone out with rude sexist slang is so appalling, now I've never really been one to take too much notice to people's t-shirts etc, but now a days I certainly steer clear of people who think that kind of thing is funny.

One of the ironic things I find about this is that I think a bloke wearing a shirt with a slogan that was positive regarding women would be instantly 100 times more attractive to me.
