    Default family day care, what are the fees like?

    im wanting my son to go into family day care a couple of days a week, to give me a break (he has epilepsy) centrelink have given us 100% for 50hrs (but i dont want him in that much) just wondering really waht sort of fees we are looking at for say 12hrs a week?

    as far as im aware most fees are done daily not hourly....without the rebate they are about $55 a day, some fees can get as low as $30 a day depending on circumstances.

    actually.....im talking about day care centres not family day care....sorry i just realised.

    I got 100% for 50 hrs and we paid $6.80 a day.

    far out thats good! the co-ordinater was saying that the carers can now choose what there hourly rate is, one lady im looking at hers is $5.70p/h -it just seems a bit high?

    The family carer that DD went to in Perth charged $8 an hour for casual care or $55 a day. On top of that, the family daycare scheme has a fee of around $8 a week. Those are all rates before any centrelink discounts and were from a year ago so would be slightly higher now.
