There is a policy in Australia that an egg donor can only donate to a certain maximum number of recipients (example 10 families). The purpose of this maximum number is is to limit the number of families with children who are half siblings through the egg donor.
We have been advised that, in some cases, potential donors may offer eggs but not want to use their true identity for some reason. We at the hub feel that children who are conceived using donor gametes have the right to know clearly and without confusion their biological origins and wish to caution recipients that this kind of thing *may* be going on. Please be aware of the full implications of a less than honest approach in egg donation.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to message me. I do wish every potential recipient the very best in their journey to complete their family.
