Talking How many births have you been to see other than your own?

I was priveledged enough last week to witness the birth of my best friends 5th baby.
Ive been curious since then to know who else has been lucky enough to experience the miracle of birth other than their own (not including midwives or doulas sorry)
I have been so lucky in that I have been a support person for the births of 7 babies.

I have been into both my sisters births and for me they were much easier than my own

They both came in for mine as well and I remember mid contractions looking at them and wishing it was one of them cause I am a great support person but a crappy patient

I've been in with 2 of my friends. The first was when I was about 21, before I had kids and was there at the start, went home for the night as they were sure nothing would happen, and then came back at about 7 the next morning and her son (my godson) was born at 10am. There were a few of us there, her partner, mum, 2 aunties and nana, and myself.

The second one was March last year (so after having 2 kids of my own), another very close friend, just me, her and her partner. She had the gel at about 7pm, was in labour around 8:30pm, and her beautiful baby was born at 4am.

It was so so different the second time around, just knowing how much pain she was in. I was bawling coz I just felt so helpless coz I couldn't stop her pain! Both times when the baby was born I cried and cried and cried, I was so emotional, funnily I wasn't emotional when my own kids were born .

I would have my friend (who had her baby in March) at this birth coming up if she still lived here, I really think women are such amazing support (pre and post natally and during labour), I'd be happy to have close friends and family with me when I birth.

I have decided to do midwifery now after the last one I went to, but am worried about crying after every birth I attend hahaha!

None couldn't even watch my own as I was far too incapaciatated! I would love to see a full natural birth just to see what it's like as mine was so high intervention. Maybe one day I'll get to witness one or even see my own!
