Sweetdreamers - What an ordeal you have been through. Especially when you were so close to that holy grail of 12 weeks. It's great you are focussed on the next one that really helps. Mine was at 7 weeks so I didn't need a D&C, but I have heard that it is a good idea to have it because it can cause complications later if you don't.

I found the grief still hit me in waves and I was lucky enough to have already booked a trip for that time right after. It was really nice to get out of our regular life / home for while. I don't know if that is an option for you at all?

    Nat, how are you.
I've got my US tomorrow (they brought it forward because of bleeding) so I'm really hoping to see something good!

Hi Kemily - goodluck with your US tomorrow, very exciting!! I'm sure everything will be perfect.
We've just gotten off the phone from Dr. Lok (IVF specialist at SIVF) and he's putting me on the pill (i guess to get my levels sorted?) and then a BT in 3 weeks to determine when we can start again. It's such a huge set-back but I'm feeling confident that we'll get pregnant again sooner rather then later. What a roller-coaster!

Nat - how are you, did you have surgery today?? Hope your feeling ok, I've been thinking about you all day.

sweetdreamers - You should be proud of yourself for getting through the D&C. I can imagine how hard it's been for you and DH and I agree when you say nothing will heal until you have your baby in your arms. I admire you for soldiering on. I didn't know you were with Dr Lok, he is meant to be a fantastic FS, so sounds like you are in good hands to achieve your goal. Sounds like the pill is to get your hormones in order so you can start again with a clean slate. I know you will be using that baby's room sooner than you think. You can get pregnant and that is a major stepping stone, its now only a matter of time before it happens for you guys.

Kemily - So glad to hear the bleeding stopped! What a relief that must be. How did your ultrasound go? Thinking of you...

AFM - We decided to go with the laparoscopy which we did on Wednesday. I lost my left tube as it was on the verge of rupturing and I had already started bleeding internally, so we were lucky we operated when we did. FS found no evidence of endometriosis, no polyps, scarring, adhesions or blockages so that was good in terms of my peace of mind. It's been so emotional but I feel like we finally have closure after weeks of physical and emotional agony. It's now time to heal and look to the future. DH is organising a holiday for us the week after next, currently deciding on a destination which is a good thing for me to get my mind off things to a degree.

Nat - I'm glad you went down the laparoscopy road and what a relief that they've found nothing!! I think the piece of mind will make amazing things happen! I hope you are recovering quickly - was there bad pain? Did your FS say when you can go again (sorry to bring that up - you might not even be thinking about it yet!)

Yes, we are very lucky to have Dr. Lok, he has a very good name in the IVF world and we are blessed that he wanted to take us on (he was interested in my Husband's gene pool and I think he thought we might be a challenge!). Anyway, for the amount of money we fork out for him - he better get us our miracle (he charged us $130 for a 10 minute converstation on the phone, cheeky!).
We really do believe that we won't be far off setting up the nursery again, or opening the door at least. It might bite me in the bum, but I think the next transfer is going to be ours to keep. We are lucky that we can jump straight into it without having to worry about money like so many others - we were blessed that we were able to sell our house and made a small fortune.

I hope you are feeling ok emotionally too? What an ordeal. Holiday sounds great.

    Take care

Kemily, Nat & Sweets will get there sooner rather then later

    Hi girls,
Nat, I'm so glad for you that you can close that chapter of the past month or so - knowing where you stand is so important. I'm glad you've been checked out in the lap as well so you can rule out any other worries. A holiday sounds like a wonderful idea. It's one of those things that people say to you that can be a bit irritating, but now I say it too because it did work for me!

Sweetdreamers, I feel sure that your next one will be the one. Hope you are feeling well..

On Thursday we had the US and it was all good! It was so exciting and we just feel so relieved and fortunate that everything looked fine and I could see a little flickering heartbeat. I'm going to stay on the pessaries and estrogen tabs till I see my obstetrician at week 10 just to be on the safe side. I really hope you girls will have the same very very soon!

Kemily - you've made my day with your ultrasound news, I'm so happy and excited for you!! What beautiful news

Nat - how are you feeling?

AFM - not much new really, started back at the gym. I put on 7kgs over the last 12 weeks . So, i need to get physically ready again for the next cycle, plus the gym has always been my therapist in rough times! It's a beautiful day here today, makes me feel grateful for my husband, home, job and family.

Take it easy girls, we're getting closer to holding our dream in our arms

sweetdreamers - I love your positive attitude and I think that will go a long way to getting you another BFP, next time to stay! When do you start your new cycle? Will it be a fresh cycle or do you have frosites? I know what you mean about putting on weight with IVF, I have also put on a few kilo's since starting this process...not sure whether to blame the drugs or the stress...its probably a combination of both! Hoping to shed that weight over the next few weeks to get back to my pre-IVF weight. I think it will be good to also get us in good shape and a good frame of mind in time for our next cycles! That is cheeky of Dr Lok to charge so much for a 10 min phone call! Didn't realise he was so expensive. It's lucky we can claim a portion of that back, but I know it will all be worth it when he does get you your little miracle!

kemily - So glad to hear the ultrasound went well and you heard the heartbeat!! How exciting, sounds like your sporadic bleeding is just random and not effecting the pregnancy at all....I'm so relieved to hear it! How are you feeling now in general?

AFM - I am glad I went with the laparoscopy as well, was great to hear there was nothing else wrong down there and I am happy to have sacrificed my tube as the injection would have taken a few days to take effect and I was already bleeding internally by the time they operated so I was very lucky.
I'm still a little sore but the emotional side of things is proving really hard to get over. The holiday will help, we leave Friday for USA, so will be nice to have some quality time with DH and just have a nice, relaxing time. I know when I get back I will be well and truly ready to start again and be in a happy place.

hi Nat - USA sounds awesome, we spent some time there on our round-the-world honeymoon and it was so much fun. I think it will give you and DH some time to get over the last rough few weeks and be able to move forward. Have a safe trip and look forward to hearing the highlights of it all - where are you acutually going? Do you have some frosties left over??

Kemily - how are you feeling.........any morning sickness yet??!!

AFM - not sure when we'll start our new cycle. We have a BT in the next couple of weeks to determine were i'm up to. It'll be fresh, unfortunantly which is such a big process isn't it. We are doing pretty good, I can now go into the 'nursery' room without crying and although we both have waves of sadness, we are focusing on the future and the next cycle - I am more determined then ever to get that BFP for 9 months!

    Take care, ladies
