Not technically feeding an over 12 month old as I'm only feeding my 10 month old now. I weaned her sister 2 months ago at 22 months. She turned 2 last week and I celebrated breastfeeding non stop for 2 years. Hoping to fall pregnant again soon and will tandem the next 2! I really miss feeding my toddler!

Dd weaned herself just after 19 months as pregnant and when checked milk had already turned to colostrum so she was very put off. Hoping to go as long with this bub if thats what they want

I'm still here. I tandem fed my girls till about 4 months ago. Big girl was a bit over 3 when I weaned her, she still asks occasionally to nurse which breaks my heart, just couldn't feed two anymore! I'm still feeding 23 month old, and am 5 months pregnant with 3rd baby who will probably tandem with big sis.

I'm so in awe of all of you. I never realised before I became a mum how unsupportive our culture can be towards breastfeeding. It makes me sad for women who get told it'll never work and then they don't push through the early days.

I've never seen this thread before. I'm currently demand bfing my 17mo dd. My feelings about it change almost daily! Neither of us is ready to wean yet. I never thought I'd want to feed past 12 months but the whole journey has felt very natural and right for us. I must admit though that lately I feel as if I "should" wean. I think the expectations/ opinions of others are starting to play on my mind a little and that makes me feel like I need to justify our choices. Anyway, it's nice to find a thread with other extended feeders.

Here's a random observation about breastfeeding my 17 month old - I no longer have a say about which side he feeds from! He has very strong opinions about it, though I have no idea what they're based on. He gets quite annoyed if I offer him the "wrong" side

Haha I remember this stage! What was made more annoying was DD1 would always say DD2s name and point the other side I was offering lol it was a lot of swapping. I just used to pull my top down for both sides and let DD1 pick her side then pop dd2 on saved a fight lol! In the end she only liked one side so it became easy!

I think I've hit that a bit early... My almost 7month old is getting quite aggressive when I lay down at night to feed to sleep and will climb/flop over on me to grab the other side with his fists 😳there's certainly no disagreeing with him!

I'm breastfeeding my 2 year 7 month old DD I'm 17 weeks pregnant and think my milk had pretty much dried up. She probably feeds once every 2 days.

Might be weaning but if she hangs on till number 2 arrives I might tandem feed for a bit. Just see how she feels
