Can I join this thread? My DS is nearly 14 months and I am still breastfeeding. Would be nice to have other mums to chat with about feeding!

D & M - My period didn't come back till DS2 was 20 months old, he's still breastfeeding at 25 months and i am having 40 day cycles, when i used to be a standard 28dayer. So it could take some time, how old is your little one?

Hi Yeah, I nurse through my pregnancies, in fact last time I was pregnant and tandem nursing, then when bub was born, feeding all three.

Personally I feel at 18 months your daughter still has a long time to benefit from breastmilk, so if she is happy to simply nurse through the pregnancy, yeah, just feed them both when bub comes.

It can feel a bit tricky to begin with, but you will soon get the hang of it, and it will become second nature.

Tandem nursing is really rewarding, just make sure you get enough rest, and eat and drink good healthy stuff!

hi girls! im actually trying to wean my 20month old. i have nothing against extended breastfeeding.. its just not for me. i really dont want to feed past 2years. he's my 4th bub, i fed for 9months, 11months & 16months with the girls and they pretty much self weaned. im not good at handling sookiness.. easier to shush them up lol

he's just not willing to give them up! im even thinking of trying a bottle.. he refuses dummies and not one of my kids has ever had a bottle but its worth a shot!

he will drink water out of cups/straws/sippy cups. but prefers the boobies!
