Mini - congrats to you to on your little pink bundle. How exciting! I can't wait till you have your NT scan. Once that's done, you'll be able sit back and relax for a while and thoroughly enjoy yourself up there on .

Thanks Penny, I have had my NT scan and we had a 1:7 chance of downs so had a CVS and thankfully all came back normal with that. The 19 week scan is to check for other abnormalities in growth, brain etc, once you get the all clear on that one, you are pretty certain everything is ok with the bubs - so another 2ww for me. I hope you make the decision that is best for you in regards to doing another cycle before September. I have been reading your blog and I know that you and hector will do what's right for both of you in the end

Micca, wow what a great number I hope all goes well at the party in the petrie dish tonight and you get awesome fert numbers tomorrow. Rest up, drink lots of fluid and eat protein with that number OHSS is a real possibility.

    lab just phoned...of the 21 eggs, 16 are mature...woohoo........

my best number so far.... fingers crossed for the fert alert.....

    Penny
...what a hard decision you have to make, You must make the one which is right for you, and it must be a decision that you will not regret later on in life.
If there is a chance that a cycle with your eggs and donor sperm may work then maybe it is worth the chance, especially when there is a chance for 50% of you in there... I think for myself I would certainly give it a go...just so I would not regret it ...
good luck on making the decision although I get the feeling that it might already be made inside you....
I would certainly go back on the DHEA...maybe at a lower dose which would minimise the side effects...

Pippy...sorry to hear that you have to have an op to clear the cyst..grrrrr...
I personally would not stop the dhea but just drop the dose right down...maybe to 25mg a day and then you wont loose all the benefits..

Minibar... yay for your pregnancy going well. I am glad you had a great result on the CVS... something I will be doing when it works... did you choose to find out the sex from the CVS..???

Lilly40... hope you are going ok... sounds like your head is in the right place. how frustrating to have low numbers... I hope your weekend is not too stressed waiting for the next blood test.

    Hi everyone,
I didn't think I'd been AWOL for so long & there's been lots happening, certainly ups & downs of the ivf roller coaster. Just want to say to everyone not doing too well atm, keep your eyes on the prize . You are all amazing women and when you think you can't keep going with this you will surprise yourself & find it in you to keep on going. Stay strong. Sending you massive loads of &

Micca - fabulous egg haul, definately plenty left in the tank for you. Hope they are partying hard in the petri dish

Penny - for what its worth I'd go back on the DHEA despite the side effects, I truly believe it helped me. How long have you been off it? It's suppose to be more effective if you've kept taking it for at least 4mths but if you haven't been off it too long it should be ok one would think. By the way, I did get extra chin hairs too practically overnight actually & was quite alarming I plucked at them, more so after I got pregnant, but they went away, just disappeared a little while after I stopped taking the DHEA.

Lily sorry to hear about your chem preg, it really sucks when you know something tried to happen but didn't quite get there. I strongly suggest you look into other factors that could be interfering with implantation, possibly ANA antibodies? (I had this) or some other blood disorders, even Natural Killer (NK) Cells. Most FS are becoming more aware of NK Cells being a major cause of failed ivf cycles. Even if nothing shows up I think its worth taking low dose asprin (Cartia 100mg - no higher) as it's suppose to keep the blood from clotting in the placenta around the embryo which can cause implantation to fail. Clexane injections do the same thing but more effectively, I was on both my last cycle as well as prednisone for the ANA's. My immunity system was attacking my embryos therefore I was having chem pregnancies & a m/c & then no sign of any implantation despite having good quality embryos. then once the cause was sorted hey presto, got pregnant.

AFM - GD sort of under control, hormones keep surging from the baby which is causing high levels of glucose so am on insulin twice daily now & 4 finger pricks a day, lucky I'm used to needles . Have been busy trying to get organised for bub's arrival in about 7-8 weeks time. She is breech so having a c-section, not much room in my little mid section for her to move.

Sorry for the lack of personals, I'm on a strict eating schedule so have to get some dinner now. I wish everyone well.

    Hello Ladies

Wow Micca what great numbers I would be thrilled to bits too, you have done so well.

Lilly, I feel so bad for you, take care, thinking of you

Pippy, good luck with your op, what a bummer! But you need to get rid of that nasty cyst. Take care of yourself

I have tried to read back quickly - so Mini and Kismet are both having girls?

Sorry, just a quick post today, so busy at the moment, it never ends

    I hope everyone is well

AFM - Looks like I will be starting end of this month or early next month depending on AF. My last AF was horrific, I have a feeling the endo is back with avengence grrrr not happy about that. Hoping FS doesn't say another Lap, that would make lap no. 6 for endo

Micca, that’s eggcellent!!!! Awesome numbers and fert rate…. Relax, eat, drink and be merry. Party in the petrie dish, party in the petrie dish. Wohooo!!

Pippy, how frustrating for you… damn that cyst. Here’s hoping the next month flies by and this time next month the cyst will be all gone and you can start making use of those eggs again.

Lily So sorry to hear about your chem preg. I hope your Doc visit on Monday proves helpful. Lots of hugs and strength for you.

SoClose – praying you’re wrong about the endo and you can start cycling again end of month.

Minibar... what a wonderful result on the CVS. That’s such great news.

Penny – congrat’s on the new job and financial independence. I’m sure you’ll be doing lots of thinking over the next 10 days and I’ll be thinking of you. Wish I could find a way to give you a clear answer, but I’m sure you will make the best choice for you and DP.

AFM, I had only 3 lots of Puregon injections 25-27 May before my cycle was cancelled, but I have been having a lot of stomach cramps and have the most tender nipples at the moment. Boobs get tender sometimes prior to AF, but not like this. It’s very strange. I’m assuming it must be side affects from the Puregon as AF is still 1-2 weeks away. It would be nice to think some sort of miracle has happened, but won’t be dwelling on it too much. Have been feeling rather emotional of late, so am praying it’s not early menopause, and just the IVF drugs. Ahhhh, the plight of a woman.

To all that I’ve missed – Hi and a wonderful weekend to all. Hugs , Sooz

lilly40... I hope that you are getting some closure with this cycle and that the FS has some answers....hope the FS appointment goes well today.
in a way Im jealous in that you have acheived implantation after 2 BFN... Im beginning to feel a bit like an empty vessel where embies go to die...lol..lol..maybe this time...

Sooz..maybe your boobs are telling you that you are have a mega ovulation occurring from the purgeon... I certainly would not waste the opportunity to practice the old fashioned way and maybe get a natural miracle.

Kismet... I love it when you pop in....you give me such hope and inspiration.
sounds like the GD is slowly getting better... remember blood is blood..so if you get a cut...use it to do a blood sugar check...lol..lol..
Ive been on aspirin this cycle and the last 2 , but still not implanting... maybe clexaine/prednisone for the next one if this cycle does not work we will see.

soclose... not long for your cycle now...end of june woohoo...enjoy the next 4 weeks of IVF free stress....
fingers crossed the endo is not playing up...

Penny... how is the decision making going....your donor sounds like such a special person... I cant wait to hear your decision as to whether to do a fresh cycle or not.

    AFM
well after a crappy sleep last night worrying about embies the call came at 750am and I missed it...sigh.
Anyway talked to the embryologist... one of the things that I can say for clinics that only go to blasts is that ignorance is bliss over the day 3 quality..... because at the end of the day it can have no influence on the quality of the blast. so the crappy 5 cell and produce a lovely blast...

    So of my 13 embies
    5 x 8-9 cell with 3 compacting already
    2 x 6 cell
    6 x 5 cell
    1 slowly growing 1 cell...hahaha
they all had about 5% fragmentation which is fine and they were classed as grade B...the embryologist told me that they get only 1 grade A a month as there criteria is more strict that other labs... so a good quality and about the same as my last cycle.

Although Im not sure that the results are as good this cycle as my last one...similar I suppose.. but I really don't think that the growth hormone made a great difference...we will see at blast stage,,its all up to the 20yr old sperm now to see how we go.... as day 3-blast is all about sperm quality.

So big decisions were made... I decided to freeze 3 day 3 embies, leave the compacting ones to grow and hope that the rest all grow nice blasts.... the good side is that a lot of these embies would probably be lost as not suitable for freezing at day 3...
Last cycle I had 6x 8 cell... and the cycle before 6 x 8 cell, 7 cell and 6 cell which produced 2 blasts... mmm so I will be left with 3x8 cell,1x6 cell, 5 x 5 cell..probably worse than cycle 1...oh well I be a little stress ball for the next 3 days to see if I actually get anything to transfer.....its a huge gamble...at least I have 10 to give it a go...
Grrr old eggs really suck on this end of things....
yep I really overthink and analyse... I guess thats what happens when you have some background knowledge and spend your days reading journal articles

Anyway going to go shopping today, Still dont know what to think about this cycle...initially I had great hopes but now Im like mmmmm.... we will see......praying for my embies to make it to blast..... wednesday is the DAY..!!

Have a great start to the week

    xxxxxx

Hi Ladies well I have been MIA for awhile as no computer but here I am sneeking in some at work.

Micca - fantastic news what a great collection you have to have 5 8to9 cell on day three is fantastic and to be able to freeze some good job go the young sperm. Im crossing everything for you that you get some great looking blasts to transfer. Hang in there its such a horrible three weeks this part. Thinking of you and those lovely embryos you have growing XOXO

Kimset - good to hear from you I bet you must be so excited with such a short time to go before your lovely bub is born. Thanks for the adivce I used it.

Sooz - how are you hope you are doing ok keep your chin up and who knows we maybe be cycling buddies next time

Mini - a little girl how lovely for you and to get the all clear congratulations

Penny - how are things on the donnor front going hope all is ok

Pippy - when are you booked in for your op

To all the ladies Ive missed I hope you are doing well and would love to hear how you are going and where you are upto XOX

Well had my appointment with FS today and another blood test to check my levels to make sure they have gone back to zero. I have asked him about all of the drugs suggested from Kimset and Micca and he said to me that he didnt want to put me on any of those at this stage as he didnt think I needed it. He said he didnt want to put me on expensive unecessary hormones at this stage as I responded quite well withou them. He also said to me that there is not enough research to support using these. I still pushed for the Growth Hormone but he said not yet. He dose use it on some patients but not for me yet. He did however say he was going to add calcuim and the estrogeon patches this time He also said to continue with the accupuncture as the research with success has been good. There was also an issue with DH's sperm which hasnt gone down well male ego and all. So I have to wait for my period to arrive sit this month out and start from the next period in July.

So Im in limbo at the moment wait for them to call tomorrow with the results stop the progesterone and wait for my period and then a free month.

Thank you everyone for you well wishes I admire each and everyone of you ladies on this thread and I wish everyone well in this crazy roller coaster ride of IVF. I will be keeping a close eye on everyones journey XOXOX

lilly40 glad to hear that you have a plan...whats the deal with the calcium???I would be interested to find out...
I hope that your blood tests can give you some closure...big hug to you...xxx
Your poor DH its such a blow to the male ego when they find out it might be related to them... I hope that you have some further tests to get some answers as obviously its 50% of the problem...Im sure he will love giving some more contributions in a cup... lol...practice makes perfect...hahahah...

    AFM
well transfer time is set for 1230pm weds... so I have organised some pre and post acupuncture at a place that specialises in IVF with some big specialiy centre.. its only around the corner from where I am staying... hey nothing can hurt and I am missing my weekly acupuncture...sad thing is that it is only 20min session...I have been spoilt with my 70min ones....and its expensive...fingers crossed...At least I can say I am doing everything to help with implanation...rest relaxing, no stress, acup, drinking foul chinese herbs..false unicorn root amongst it ...scoffing vitamins...cant think of anything else....I dont find out until transfer tomorrow...so we will see...... just keep growing little blasts...mummy wants you to grow and snuggle into your new home weds...
I went to IKEA to get the last bits of my cabinet, my god the traffic was hideous and it was the middle of the day...how do people live in sydney and not go mental...!!!
I am glad I got it all sorted today as it is all pretty heavy stuff....even pushing the trolley was heavy going ...especially for the solo chic....so all the lifting is now done before ET. I must say that ikea is not the place to go after a BFN...it seems to be the young fertile couples hang out.... children and babies everywhere..and this was a weekday... !!! it also gets a little soul destroying looking at the parents of the babies...some are so obese that I even wonder how part A fitted into part B....lol....

Anyway back on the couch...cuppa and some chocolate and everyones a winner.... I missed it...lol...planning some serious couch time the next few days....the cinema will have to wait..... everything to help the embabies.....

    good wishes to everyone...xxxxx
hope I can sleep tonight without worrying about the blasts....
