Hi ladies hope you are all well

Goldy Im so sorry to here your BT results I hope you are doing ok.

Micca, Debree, Pippy, Soclose, Cougarmummy, Penncy PC - how are you ladies doing were are you all upto with your cycles, waiting for answers and just chilling. I sometimes loose track if I havent logged on for a few days.

Thanks everyone for the wishes for my appointment this morning, 6 perfect sized eggs and a few smaller ones that dont look that crash hot. I was hoping for more but as the dr and nurse said its better to have 6 good ones than 12 not so good. So all booked in for egg retrival on Monday so came home all happy until I just received a phone call from the nurse saying that from the ultrasound that my lining is very thin!!!! and they may need to put me on estrogen patches. Just waiting to hear back from the dr to find out if thats the case and go to his rooms to pick up the prescription as its Friday afternoon.

Has anyone had this problem before and been on the patches! If its not one thing to stress about its always something else we get over one hurdle and they put another in front of us, its just my legs are not that long! Its not made easy for us ladies on IVF.

I look forward to reading where everyone is upto and hello to anyone I have missed. XOX

Well just heard back and my dr wants me on the patches so start tonight and put the patch on my bum and change it every three days.

My llining is 4mm which is not good apparently I dont really know how thick the lining should be for a good transfer dose anyone know?

Anyway hopefully with 8 or so days before the transfer the lining builds up and I will be good to go.

    Have a great weekend everyone

lilly-- Hope your lining improves with the extra estrogen.... you know viagra vaginal suppositories also help too...lol...lol... Thats a good egg count, time and time again you read on the boards where women get 20 eggs and only 5 of them may be mature, its certainly true that lower egg numbers are often better quality eggs.
The medicare rebate is a little more than that with the changes...check out the website...with the rebates for the new system as of jan 1 2010.(its down the bottom of the page)

    http://www.health.gov.au/internet/mb...Factsheet-EMSN

    cougarmummy...MIA how was the beta??

goldy I hope you are feeling human again after your BFN... big hugs

Penny how are you going, Ive been reading your blog and it sounds fantastic that a possible donor has come forward. I hope that you are slowly feeling better and moving forward....

Pippy...ivf is always waiting... Im so hating that word... hoping that jumbo the evil cyst is going so you can cycle again...

Waitingtobe... you have really had a hard go of the IVF cycle. I would certainly take time off and let your body become super fertile.
Id certainly try DHEA,royal jelly (has a FSH like effect) and both you and DH could try Maca root and L-arginine (all take about 3 months to work (life cycles of sperm/egg turnover) Most studies now are really coming out with the negative effects of caffeine and alcohol on the egg and sperm production.
I personally have been caffeine and alcohol free since december...and I really dont miss it... you get used to decaff tea/coffee. I also take vitamins and DHEA and weekly acupuncture (which I love). It has not worked yet for me... but I think that my egg quality is not 2 bad as I got 6 day 3 embies that were all 8 cell with no fragmentation.... and a BFN sigh.
This cycle Im trying growth hormone..so fingers crossed...xxx
Good luck for trying the old fashioned way.

sooz... come jab with me.... .wooohoooo.... jabbin n stabbin all the day...

    AFM
ok.... I just had my first ever lupron tantee and it was a beaut...
you guys will prob just wet yourselves with laughter.
It was so bad Ive gone back to the couch with blankie and my secret chocolate stash...

So I decided to replace 2 window latches which had needed to be done for about 2years, of course its just the sort of thing you do when you feel a bit snotty, its 8degC outside and the windows are very tricky. So the first one went on...tricky but managed to get done without tears... The next was slightly higher and of course it was not the easy one.... after rescrewing the screw about 4 x, dropping all my tools out the window and numerous bad words of frustration that rhyme with duck... and ducking sh1tty thing... I really really lost it and threw my drill down in frustration...well flung is probably a better description...it then bounced and hit a glass and it broke all over the carpet.... sigh. So I look at that in absolute disgust more of those duck words... well a lot.... and got the sh1ts with the window and finally finished the latch (one of those wind in ones) . So the next task was to clean up the glass... Im in bare feet of course. So Im on the carpet with the brush and pan nearly finished when I look back and there on the carpet is huge smears of blood everywhere- ...we are talking murder scene proportions call in CSI !!!!.(I had cut my foot on the glass) So after a few more of those phases involving ducks I vacumed the glass, cleaned up the murder scene, got a headache and Im now sitting with a cuppa and chocolate letting my blood pressure come down to non stroke levels...sigh....... now I just feel exhausted.......
Im so glad there was no one with me otherwise there might have been a second murder scene...lol....

So there you go my ducking hissy fit #1.... sigh

I guess there is one advantage to being single.... no witnesses....

    Lily,

Congratulations on your perfect eggies.....and like micca said, it definately is quality over quantity...hope your lining improves with the patches.....

    Micca,

Love the secret stash of chockies....mmmmmm
Interesting about Royal Jelly being like a stimulant....so will that help me develop more follies???? Should I go and start taking it.......yep, think I best do that....I take 450-600 puregon and still have next to no follies.....when I cycle..

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend....
Going to go watch my new favourite show....."A HAUNTING"....love scaries....

Hi everyone, another quick drop in, so busy with mum at the moment, we have finally decided the time has come to place her in a home, so hard for dad but we cannot cope any longer. There is so much involved I don't have a minute to muself at the moment.

Micca, I needed a good laugh sorry, funny but not funny, glad your found comfort in your choccie and couch. My moods on the ivf drugs are terrible which is why I have to be as stress free as possible when starting a cycle. I seem to be one big emotional nightmare from start to finish

Big hugs for Goldy so sorry for your result but you are sounding positive

Pippy you must be getting so frustrated with this awful annoying cyst, I really hope it goes away so you can get started properly

Lilly I hope your lining thickens up nicely for you. The most eggs I have ever had is three, last cycle we only got one but the quality was quite good. Your numbers are good

Hi waiting2b - I eat really healthy when doing ivf and of course no alcohol and no coffee. There are so many 'myths' out there I don't know what to believe! I think just be as healthy as you can. Good luck

Hi to everyone else I missed

    hi everyone

Soclose.... Its such a hard decision when you have to put a parent in the nursing home... I hope you go through this life transition with her ok. At least she will be in good care and it will improve her health...as well as stimulate her brain as all the little old ladies sit around and talk all day...Big hugs for making such a hard decision...

Pippy.... I would certainly give the royal jelly a go. I took 2g while I was stimming and I think it helped to make all my follies more even in their growth. Maca is also an ovarian stimulant at the follicle level.. but it is one of those drugs that can lead to hyperstimulation problems...mind you if nothing works for you it might be worth consideration in low doses.
I love a good horror movie too, I still think that the saw ones are pretty good, and Dr Phibes movies are classics.

lilly40...good luck with the lining I hope that it is thickening up beautifully, fingers crossed the patches are working.

PennyPC...hope you are feeling more like your focused self and are getting back into the swing of normal life.

sooz... are you jabbin yet??? ..must be close...

    AFM
I hope you are getting over the weekend. Im Showered, in my jim jams school bag packed ready for work tomorrow....sigh
    Last BCP monday night.....YAY YAY

well a nonstop day today..... mostly that pre-stim frenzy that we all get in IVF before starting the stims and have to stop all exercise and heavy lifting.......
I cleaned the house, mended my clothes, framed my big photos..which look fabulous..I must say..well come on, who else is going to comment...really...... made great cookies, made fantastic stewed apples and raspberry and froze them, cut up the fruit leather.. master chief here I come.....!!! , paid bills, cleaned my second bedroom ready for my room mate....phew .... and drove in to the work flat (100km)...I only had to dodge 5 Kangaroos on the way...lol..lol...thank god for missing them, not what you need a car in the panel beaters getting fixed before your IVF....
I need a rest now.......still not had time to put on the Wii fit but I brought it with me and tomorrow is the day..!!!

Lupron continues....no real side effects except my little hissy fit....I hope that it continues this way....fingers crossed.....

I hope this week goes well... busy with work until thursday....
Gearing up for the baseline down reg fanny cam on friday woohoo...NOT!!,
The hotel is booked, conference is sorted with lots of time to go shopping in IKEA...lol I have to take some things back as well... you know how you buy things in a hormone haze take them home and go...nup...
Trouble for me is IKEA is 600km away...oh well thats what this trip is for.... now where did I carefully stash the receipt that I can't find...sigh......oh well I'll just have to play the dumb country bumkin...... what ever works I'll use it....lol..lol..lol..

I hope everyone has a great sunday night and ready for the new week.

    Hi everyone,
just a quick one tonight, I need to do some catching up.

First of all DRBEE - congratulations on your beautiful natural BFP it's wonderful news.

LuckyAPA- I suggest you have a look at the Poor Responders thread, however go back a fare way, there are quite a few ladies on there that have taken DHEA and had success including myself, some of them have recently had their bubs or are about to & swear that DHEA did the trick. It is a compounding hormone we produce when we are young but the levels decline as we get older. My FS put me on it to try it, as it was new news to him at the time & he had a 43 year old patient that had successfully fallen pregnant on it. Usually you have to be on it for at least 4 months for it to be effective. I still cycled in this time, I was also on it 12 months before I was successful but certainly noticed the quality of my embyros improve in these cycles, I wasn't getting pregnant due to another factor. I was taking 1 x 75mg tablet daily, the standard dosage is 3 x 25mg tabs daily usually. The only side effects I had were a few pimples initially, a little more hair loss but not bad. The benefits I had were some weight loss in the beginning and more energy. The weight piled back on the more ivf cycles I did . I also have PCOS and it didn't affect anything there. My FS was in the US during my last cycle and came back quite excited about the studies on DHEA there and the success rate they have had so is giving it to more patients now (& believe me it takes a lot for him to get excited about anything). You can get it by prescription from a compounding chemist (if your FS agrees to give you one, some docs still don't know enough about it or don't want to know about it), it cost me $40 a month. I have also heard you can get a homeopathic DHEA without a Dr script but not sure if it's the same strength etc & wouldn't know how much of it to take. I was weened of the DHEA by 12 weeks into my pregnancy.

Sorry I've missed everyone else, I've had a stressful weekend, my uncle passed away & I have found out I have gestational diabetes so am trying to get my head around that. Chat soon.

    Hi Everyone,

Quick one today as my work week has started rather heady.

Micca, thanks for asking after me, but would you believe I am still waiting for AF. I've been spotting for about 5 days, but not the real deal yet. After my early start last month, this is odd as I am usually so punctual never going past day 30, but am now at day 32 today, so not sure what's going on?

I can’t believe you haven’t tried your Wii out yet, you must get it going you'll have a good laugh with it all I'm sure. Shame we can't some how link up with Wii over the net and play against each other that way.... but I don't think they have the smarts for that yet. Hope all goes well for you on Friday and the week zooms by without incident .

Kismet, so sorry to hear about your uncle and your gestational diabetes diagnosis . Take the very best care of yourself and I’ll be sending loads of positive thoughts your way to get that blood glucose level to behave itself.

Hi to everyone else and a great week to you all
    Ciao for now Sooz

    Hi ladies,

well I am back in here on the IVF trail again. I posted recently about my natural miracle, but sadly it has already left me .

I started to miscarry on saturday at 4am, and my FS had me straight back on the meds for an immediate cycle, so I started jabbing that day .

I turn 42 this week, so no time to waste being sad and reflective I suppose.

As a poor responder I have told him I will only go to EPU for three mature follicles and anything else just want to DTD.

I know my tubes are OK now, after having my fibroids out last month, and having conceived naturally twice I think it has to be worth a shot.

3 good follicles though and I am all his for EPU!

I am at work and posting quickly so have not had time to catch up on allt he news, but I hope everyone is going well!
