    Hi all

Penny - Whoa there girl. What an incredible ride you've been on since you were 17. And after all that, you're now in the middle of your 2WW. Congratulations to you and your DH. Our 2WW finished just over a week ago with a BFP for us on our very first round of IVF. We both can't believe how fortunate we are and a quite aware of how many others haven't been. I'm sure the 2WW is the worst part of the process, although in our early days I needed a karyotype test and that took 6 weeks to get the results. Man, that was a killer wait too. We all have our for the very best result for you. Keep us informed.

Kismet - I think you hit the nail on the head when you said " Perseverance is the key to anyone considering or currently going through this process " This is one of many attributes people are going to need in vast amounts to get through the IVF/ICSI process. Very nicely put.

Lucky - 10 weeks gone, well done. Have you googled to see what a 10 week old foetus looks like yet? A 5-6 week foetus like ours looks like a seahorse. My wifey's body is doing some awesome things. Changes, big changes even this early. Her sense of smell and taste are changing, her (.)(.) are achy and substantially fuller and her once flat, little tummy is now oh so cute and round. I can't help kissing and talking to it. Weird hey!

So for now, everyone enjoy the coming of December and look after yourselves.

    Love & Peace

    Paul

Hi all, hope today is seeing all our over 40's happy, hopeful and well.

So many BFP's here it's wonderful!

Hopefully Minibar and I can join you next week!

Paul - my ride has been interesting and colourful, but many have had a lot tougher ones so all in all I feel pretty lucky to get this chance, so I'm jumping in with both feet! Congrats to you and yours. You sound just so excited, it's wonderful.

Lucky, congrats to you - and I think you are right, with more support there will be more of us willing to go down this path. I figure once there are more of us we'll be much more 'socially acceptable' (not that I care two hoots for those who consider it's somehow their right to judge.

Kismet - sent you a post on our other thread. Hope you're feeling well today!

Minibar - to you to help keep your stress levels down. It's a tough wait isn't it? I may have trouble getting my arms out of this straight jacket to actually get this BT on Saturday!

Mini - hi there, yes its the pits the waiting and waiting, hopefully it will go a bit quicker for you.

Paul64 - that's so sweet and cute that you can't leave your wife's tummy alone . How are her moods these days? (I saw your other thread asking for advice during the 2ww). A good book to read is Kaz Cooke's Up The Duff - so funny, it's written like a diary of a womans account of her pregnancy but has the facts in it as well.

PennyPC - hi to you too. That's quite a story, I'm so glad you met someone lovely & have been given the opportunity to be a mum again, it's been a long wait for you and I have everything crossed for your results on Sat.

As for being judged - I work with mostly males in an engineering company and as I am on my own I can't wait to see their reactions when they find out I'm expecting I've been there over 10 years & very few of them have ever seen me with a partner. They can think what they want but I would love to be a fly on the wall when they find out. I can just see their minds ticking over now like . These guys are the biggest goss addicts, people think woman are bad at it.

Hi all, just thought I'd post an update on this thread to let you know I had a BT yesterday and it was a BFN. Very sad.

Am off progesterone support now so as long as AF arrives by Sunday (no guarantees), I can have an FET on Christmas eve. I am really hoping my body plays nicely as I really would love to at least be PUPO for Christmas. Actually I would have preferred to have been on but it's not meant to be.

Am trying so hard to keep the faith that this will work for us. Days like yesterday are sent to test that though. I am really trying to be strong and to look forward, not backward

Minib - my thoughts are with you too today. I hope you're ok. for you.

Jen - I forgot to mention I changed FS this last cycle. I asked the nurses at the clinic who they saw getting the best results with the over 40's ladies and though they weren't allowed to recommend one doctor over another, some clever chatting revealed there was one doctor there who specialised in 'difficult' cases and so I moved to him.

Although I didn't get my BFP this time, I am much happier with him. He doesn't mind that I am a pro active patient who wants to try anything to help the process. Everytime I suggest something new, he either says, 'well it won't hurt, and it may help, so let's try it', or he talks me through in detail as to why he thinks it's not for me. The last FS virtually gave me yes or no answers - usually no!

So I just thought I'd let you know I think your decision to try a new FS was great! I see a few of my younger friends who are going through this who don't seem to question much, but then for them, they probably don't need to as 4 out of 5 ladies I know who are in their early thirties got their BFP on their first round.

Paul, Lucky and Kismet - feel free to rub against me! Maybe your BFP luck could rub off! It's worth a try!

PennyPC - thinking of you . Your FS does sound great and you will get your BFP! It is so true, we need to question every thing they do as we don't have time to wait! I met with the new FS on Wednesday and he was amazing. Already feel so much better. Lots of suggestions as to what to do - things never mentioned by my old FS and clinic. Love him. So happy I made the change. for an FET on Christmas Eve.

Kismet, funny that you say that about the blokes at work. I agree, they are worse than us for gossip and pettiness (sorry Paul 64!!). How are your levels?

Paul64 - I love it that you just want to kiss your wife's belly. It is beautiful.

Minibar - . Thinking of you for your BT. Lots and lots of your way.

AFM - so I am hopefully going for an EPU late January. I have gone on the pill so we can slip in a cycle before the safety net goes. My new FS has so many great ideas - really looking forward to it now.

Hope you all have good weekends.

    Jenxx

    Hi All

I hope everyone is going well. Would love to hear some updates...........

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow. Had my 10 week scan last week and saw a baby in there!!! OMG, there were little arms and legs moving around, a nice strong heartbeat. It was all a bit of a shock because every scan prior to this has just been like looking through a sandstorm. My husband was speechless for about an hour afterwards, seems it finally is sinking in for him too now.
But, it is all very surreal because I'm not sick and not showing. And I think my doctor is VERY amazed that things are going along so smoothly, particularly at my age. The age thing is a huge deal it seems. Mind you, I only look and feel about 30......well, I'd like to think that anyway.....
So, next week I can relax just that little bit more and if I eat enough over Xmas, I might be in maternity clothes shortly after!!!!!

Lovely to hear an update from you Lucky! It is awe inspiring seeing your little one moving around ... how sweet it is!!

I had trouble free pregnancies too, despite being high risk and developing GD in both. I think our maturity () and elation plays a huge part in helping us glide through pregnancy, ignoring anything that causes discomfort and relishing everything about being UTD!

I wish you more of the same ... hope you will keep us updated throughout.
