Thank you, Lucky. You give me hope. It is als very nice to read so many positive stories here. I am 44, and my hubby is 51. I have had 3 unsuccessful cycles in the last 5 months on account of my low quality eggs. The last time I was with my fertiltiy specialist - what did he say?....I have produced millions ready - anyhow, he is hinting pretty heavily on getting an egg donor. I think any woman who donates her eggs to long suffering moms are angelic to say the least. I am Chinese and I am not sure what chance I have in meeting such an angel of Chinese/Asian background. Any advice or directions would be most appreciated. Thanks

Thank you LUCKYAPA for your story, it is great news for all us hopefuls. I am 43, my hubby 45, on our 3rd cycle. Did you have a day 3 transfer? How many babies are in there, do you know yet?

    Hi Mama2010,
yeah the acronyms are pretty confusing in the beginning!! welcome to BH by the way ill run through some of them.
BFP is big fat positive as in positive preg test,
    BFN is big fat negative
    DH is dear/darling husband
    DD is "" " daughter
AF is aunty flow as in your period
EPU is short for egg pick up for us ivf'ers.

There is a guide to acronyms somewhere.. not sure where to look for that. Your in the right place for advice and support. Have you just started ivf? if so I hope your journey is a short one.

Default IVF Cycle#4 Any Advice - new to Forum

Dear All I loved reading your posts and it has inspired me even more to keep trying. I turn 40 this year and have been trying to get pregnate for years.

I Had a misscarrage in 2006 with another miscarrage in early 2008 and it wasnt until then that my dr sent me to see a FS. Then it was a year of operations and investigation work to find out what the issues where, blocked tubes100% right side and 70% left side plus poor sperm quality from partner. Then an op to fix a sever bicorniute uturs which I was advised most possibly caused the miscarriges.

Started IVF with 8 eggs collected 3 fertilised 1 put back with a Negative result. Defrosted two only 1 usrvived and was transferred back with Negative result all of these were day three transfer. Next round was with accupuncture 8 eggs collected 5 fertilised 2 made to blastacyst I transferred back with negative result I have just got my period and blood test due Monday. 1Blast in frezer I have an appointment with my specialiast on 22 Feb to discuss where to next. I was considering this being the last try.

I would just like to say that after reading all your stories you have inspired me to continue this journey and not give up. So thank you all for that. Im in Melbourne and would love to hear any advice or recommendations

I hope those with a BFP result continue on with a successful journey and I look forward to hearing about iton this post.

For those of us that dont yet I hope we too will soon receive our BFP.

Lilly40 - welcome aboard, but all the same sorry you have to be here on this track going through the ups and downs of ttc. Can I suggest you ask your doc if you could try clexane or asprin? Clexane is a blood thinning injection that helps the uterus to be more receptive to embryos, used mainly for women that have blood clotting disorders but I don't have that I had antibodies that were 'attacking' the embryos, my body wasn't recognising a pregnancy so clexane was suggested. Cartia asprin 100mg (low dose) is also quite commonly used for similar reasons. A relative of mine is just about to have her 3rd transfer from her 1st egg collection and has been told to take the asprin next time, just to try it, no specific reason.
Also some people do acupuncture to maximise their chances, some see benefits and some don't. I did it myself but I initially thought I might be wasting time and money but then found someone that deals specifically with fertility and the treatment was fantastic, it put me in a different place mentally and physically and I believe contributed to me falling pregnant.
Doing IVF is emotionally draining and its easy to walk away from it if it gets too much. Hold on to the reason you are doing this and believe in yourself. I tell everyone persistance is the key. You will know when enough is enough, and fortunately you still want to go on & good for you. I always wondered when I thought about giving it away that I would never know if the next round would be the one and finally it's happened for me, I'm so glad I didn't end it earlier.

Hi ladaies, just a very quick update from me with not-so-good-news.

We had an EPU on saturday- two follicles. Sadly only one egg, and it didn't even fertilise. I just did not expect to fall over so soon in the process. All my eggs in the past have fertilised.

I am gutted and dont really know for sure where to go form here.

I have asked my FS if I can start the DHEA now so hope to get this organised asap.
