Yumster, the newer V8's have better fuel economy than my 2003 4 cylinder honda and probably most 6cyl cars!! They have engineered better electronics to be able to adjust fuel, so just because it is a V8 it doesn't mean that it guzzles fuel like they once did!! My DH edumacated me the other day all about it!!!!

I would be careful and read everything and make extra repayments or you will be paying a hell of alot more than 35k.
If you make the mimium repayments you will have to pay more in interest in the long run and make sure with the loan it allows you to make extra repayments (some charge for this)
Dont go with some dodgy GE type finance I know of people who have bought things for like 6k made min repayments ended up still paying 10years later and it's cost over 13k for a 6k loan.
It's also better if you have a mortgage to put it with the house interest rates tend to be lower.
    Good luck

Yumster- Yeah, but theres no way on gods green earth that I would be seen driving anything like an i30 I DESPISE 4 cylinder cars. Like mum23girls said, the new SS is a beautifully engineered machine that is not only one of the most fuel efficient sedans but it is right up there with safety. Plus its schexxyyy as!

Leisa- Thanks, I didnt know that I will definitely look into it.

Sandycheeks- Thanks, I have heard about the GE loan and no way would I get it. I would either be going through Bankwest or St.George and their interest rate is around 11%. Cheers for the tip about paying more than the interest, Im aware it is important to do so or, as you said, you end up paying so much more.

Haha we have a Ford now. DP loves them too he would love to get a Typhoon but the fact is the new Fords cost a fair bit more than the new Holdens because Commodores depreciate so quick.

logiesmummy- $200 isnt bad at all. That means with rent and car loan we would be paying $500 a week. That is do-able considering I probably spend that on cr@p throughout the week anyways .
