    Default IVF Bubs due April/May/June 2010 #2

Nat - I got my swimmers from a website called Bella Bellies.

Havehope - glad you got back some great BT results!

Nikki - I've never been to WA but I've heard it's beautiful - very jealous!

hopeful - yep Coffs is beautiful. I've been there once before and stayed at the Aanuka Beach Resort and it was lovely but this time we are staying at Park Beach because it's the only place that still had some vacancies during school holidays!

LillyJack - I grew up in WA so I will always have a soft spot for it, but the mining boom caused it to grow too fast, prices went crazy and what was once a fairly laid back city turned into a big gold rush town. Hopefully they are using their money for good and building infrastructure projects, but time will tell. I still love the beaches and bush though, I grew up in the wheatbelt district.

momof6 - My sister really wants us to have a girl, she is convinced it will be a girl (she has a little boy) but it'll be a while until we find out... boy or girl I am just excited!

Is anyone getting headaches? I've started getting them lately, they are not too bad just annoying.

Havehope: That's awesome! Congrats on the good numbers. The 7 week scan is nerve wracking but heaps exciting too. What date is your scan and what time?

Nikki: I've been having some headaches but really, I am massively headache prone (I'm also lucky enough to suffer migraines) so unsure if it's a symptom or just usual for me.

I have a question. Well actually, I just want some opinions - I had to make my 1st OB appointment today. So I rang the office of the guy I've been recommended and I'm told that he 'doesn't need to see me until I'm 12 weeks'. Is this standard? I did advise it was an IVF pregnancy but didn't make any difference. Five weeks seems an awful long wait at the moment especially when I panic over every little thing .

Also, does anyone else wake up with a stuffy nose? It's gross! I thought it might be hayfever but it's only ever upon waking which makes me think it's not .

Hi Everyone!! What a chatty bunch we have in here today. Very interesting to read the boy/girl IVF statistics everyone is mentioning. Very exciting reading. Wonder what the boy/girl % will be from this group at the end of our pregnancies!?

When we started doing IVF, my mum was adamant that if it worked, we would end up with a girl. I mentioned to her the fact that actually according to statistics it would be more likely to be a boy. In typical mum style though, she came out with "If you have fertility problems, then when you do eventually conceive, it will be a girl!!" Yes, my mum has some strange ideas (God love her - she makes me laugh!!). She doesn't know about this pregnancy yet, but I am sure she will tell me that 100% I will be having a girl!! (For the record I would be happy with either after the journey we've had to get here!)

pixie - 12 weeks seems quite late. My first appointment was at 10 weeks as that enabled us to do another scan (woo hoo) and discuss NT testing etc. Also, with regards to the stuffy nose - I hear you!! From what I've read sinus problems can be exaggerated during pregnancy.

Nikki - A big yes to the extra headaches here too. (Although like Pixie, I'm quite prone to headaches/migraines anyway.) Last night I had such a shocker that I went to bed at 8.30 to try to sleep it off. By 10 it was so bad that I ended up taking some panadol as I was almost in tears even in a dark room (I know it is okay to take Panadol, I was just reluctant). It eventually passed, but I am finding if I don't look after myself at the first sign of a headache then it just gets out of control (as it did yesterday).

Angeleish isn't it mad how we put off taking anything til it's nearly too late? Even though we know panadol and panadeine are ok!

havehope - thats great news about your bt!!

lillyjack - thanks heaps, I shall check it out

nikki - I've been really lucky and only had a couple of headaches that I think were more down to dehydration (it seemed that way as I drank a heap of water and they went away)

pixiepaws - my 1st appt with my OB is when 2 days short of 12 wks. I'm not sure if that's cause it was the earliest that I could get in or thats what the OB does. When I made the appt I was advised to ring to make an appt for the NT scan that day to make sure I get in as they get busy. Im not sure if all of this is standard

Jetgirl - So glad you mentioned feeling cold a lot of the time. I'm always hearing how people feel warmer in pregnancy but I am freezing. For the past two nights I've even slept with bed socks on!!! Haven't done that since I was a kid!!! LOL ....and yes, it is weird how we hold off taking pain relief until the last minute.

omg I am not alone, I suffer headaches also, they seem to be a weekly thing and last for a day or two. Enough to make you not want to do anything or go anywhere. I suffer migraines also, and thankfully haven't had one..touch wood

12 weeks seems a long time to wait for your appointment. I have seen my OB 4 times since a positive bt. Had 3 scans and another on Thursdy, well that one is the NT scan and I see the OB a week later. Maybe as I live in a smaller town (not sure where you are) he wants to see more to keep his patients high..lol

I haven't been cold, complete opposite actually, hubby is so hot and i cannot even touch him when in bed, I end up throwing my leg out the side

Wishing everyone a good nights sleep, chat tomorrow

    Hi Girls,

Been missing in action a bit over the last week, so apologies for not being around.

Heading home to Australia Saturday week and trying to tie up all the loose ends as we are going to be home for a month!! Cannot wait to see my Mum and Dad and going to chill out and do not much I think! Looking forward to some nice warm weather hopefully too.

AFM, the twins are going well. We have decided we are not going to find out the sex, crazy I know but we both just want the surprise so I am going to resist the temptation. DH is adamant he doesnt want to find out.

Went shopping for the first time on the week end, but chickened out!! Didnt know where to start and now with twins I am like, aaarrggghh double everything!

Found a pram that I like though, and can you believe its literally $700 cheaper here in the US compared to home in Oz...its crazy!! I clearly had no idea about these sorts of things.

Needless to say I came home empty handed with an packet of Hershey chocolate under my arm!

Hope everyone is going well and feeling good!

    Sparkles
