    Default hard to relax!

hi! i have just been diagnosed with PCOS too and have been through so many emotions this week! I've got my appointment for the gyno in 4 weeks which is so frustrating but i couldnt get in any earlier! im finding it so hard to not think about it! Everyone keeps telling me to be positive and to not think about it but WHAT DO THEY KNOW!!! At least we live in an age where we can get all the help we need with conception! It doesnt make it any easier though!! Good luck with everything!

    HI Everyone

wannaBamumma - totally understand. im still in shock about finding out I have PCOS. Still can't believe I had it. until people really know what you are going through they can't really give advice. I have been told many times not to stress or worry. The waiting game is the hardest. Days seems to just drag waiting for the next month. Im booked into see my gyno on tuesday. I started my first round of clomid this month. I definitely didn't o this month so I really want this appointment to be over so I can start the next round. If you don't mind me asking how did you find out you had it?

Best of luck with everything. There are some really good websites you can google for advice and they seem to keep me occupied.

    Ladies

WannaBamumma - I also have PCOS. I found out in June 09. Have you done any research about PCOS? I found a great information sheet that really helped me to understand the condition and what steps are involved in treating it and fertility questions. let me know if you want a copy and 'll see if I can attach it for you.

    Post 7 months and counting!

    Thanks so much ladies!!
I found out because we have been TTC for about 7 months and my cycle was all over the place! And i mean ALL over the place!! 20 days to 35 to 66 then back down to 40!! I had an ultrasound last week and it confirmed everything. I would love an info sheet if this can be attached! There is so much information on the net that you never know what to trust! I've also read alot about clomid and the risks involved... but right now id do anything for a baby so im not thinking too much into it! Do you have people trying to tell you that it's not the worst thing that could happen?? I do! And its so frustrating! For me it IS the worst thing because all I want is a baby! Im just wishing the time would go faster so I can hurry up and start the clomid!

    Again

I couldn't attach the document but I found the web. Just copy and paste into your web browser or click on the link below.

It's written by Dr David Molloy from Queensland Fertility Group and I found it very very interesting and it explained it very well for me. I had to read it a couple of times though. Dr Molloy is apparently a leading fertility specialist.

It is a PDF so it can be printed out for future reference. I even gave it to DH to read so he understood as well.

I was "diagnosed" via BT and then had to have a ultrasound but the radiographer (???) focused on everything other than my ovaries. They can't confirm I have PCOS but all indications are is that yes I have it so FS is treating it as though I do. I've never had reqular cycles and have just put up with it or been on BC. It took me 2 years to conceive with DS so i guess I could have had it back then???

I have one more cycle before we have to go back to FS for more testing. DH SA was fine. I'm currently in the 2WW for my 3rd cycle and it can't go quick enough.

Let me know what younthink of this document! Happy reading!

PS: let me know if the link doesn't work. I have tested it and it's fine but you never know.

    Hi,

    another clomid success story.

    (dx with PCOS in 2004)

I fell pregnant in October 2007 Naturally. My very first cycle and I fell with non identical twins. I found out at 12 weeks I had lost both.

I saw an Endocrinologist who increased my metformin and sorted a few things out and when she was happy referred me to a Gynae. I had 2 cycles of clomid with Scans to check follicles and Blood tests.

I then had another 2 cycles of Clomid and IUI (Insemination). I am 19 weeks pregnant.

I am not sure if the metformin contributed or not but I have to mention I was on it as well and was also seeing a Naturopath.

I had slight headaches the first round of clomid but the side effects listed on the information sheet my gynae told me were quite rare. I panicked when I first read them.

    Good Luck

    HI WannaBamumma,

i know what you are going though - there is nothing worest. I cant even work all i think about is what i would be doing if i had a baby!

I also rang my Gyno at the start of Sept and his first appointment was in 17 Nov - i couldn't wait that long i was nearly crying on the phone! His sidekick's first appointment was on 19 Oct so i booked in to that and rang my family doc of 24 years - he rang for me and i got a appointment a lot quicker - it was on 29 Sept.

So maybe ring your doctor and see if he can get you in early?

i was put on Clomid and provera (to make me bleed as i had not had a period since July) right away and i am having a withdrawal bleed and started last night with the clomid. (it is my first round and i am so excited!)

I know it is hard to destress as everyone keeps telling us - i know they mean well but they don't understand unless they are going though it - thats why this site is great!

I have done alot of research on clomid, the success rates ect.

I think the best think to do is be well informed about everything.

Good luck with everything and take care.

My sister and I both have PCOS and tried clomid with very different results!

My sister got a BFP with twin boys on her first cycle on 50mg of clomid.

I tried 15 cycles of Clomid some BD and some IUI but all were BFN so we moved onto IVF.

The hot flushes and trouble sleeping were my worse side effects.

    Good luck

first week on metformin a fell preg we were so excited but then my gp told me to stop metformin so i did and i lost the baby. Now i have done 1 cycle of clomid 50mg and O'd then my fs wanted to see if i would O on my own but i didnt then we started 2nd 3rd n 4th cycle on the 4th cycle NO O i was so upset but now im currently on my 5th cycle of Clomid but this time its 100mg so fingers crossed and loads of baby dust this works. If not im going to need to take a break from the clomid for a few months. I have no idea on how to cut down my stress but would be very grateful for any advice on that.
Thanks ZULTBEAR ive printed out the sheet and plan on having a good read.
As for the pains when you O yes although i have gotten no side effects from the clomid ( other than the moodswings) i do feel extreemly tender in my right ovary when im O'ing so i think thats normal oh and i also forgot to mention ive lost over 22kg so far so im hoping this will also help me fall preg as im eating really healthy
