    HI
sorry for being MIA.. time is just flying by.. well I am 32 weeks on monday.. and still going good. Dr says bubs is up to the 97th percentile range, and he suggested I have a elective C section due to past surgery.. I said we wanted to try the Vag way first.. but after speaking to hubby we are taking the C section.. just incase.. So next apt is the 27th so will book in a date woo hoo.. Also at my last scan at 29 weeks they found a very very small hole in her heart. But they said it will heal up and not to worry..

So that's it from me sorry for the delays

    Happy Xmas to all
    xxxx

    Default Our Birth Story

    Megs birth story ...

After doing some yard work with Ash and Lachie, I went to have a lazy ready and nap as they went to the dump around 2.30ish I felt that low pressure like mild period pain.. and I thought “ooh could this be early labour” then I felt this “thud” feeling like something just clicked into place and the mild feeling got just that much stronger.. So I got up went to the loo and there was a little mucas show. WOO HOO!!!.. so jumped in the shower. Got out finished packing bags and started timing the contractions. When Ash got home at about 3.30pm they were coming every 5 or so minutes and only lasting say 20-30sec.. so I called the hospital they advised to make our way in. We arranged for a mate to take home Lachie (as it was a kids weekend) buy they time we got to the hospital it was just after 5pm and things had heated up on the drive in. The was water gushing after ever contraction now, and they were coming like every 30 secs – 1min and lasting 1min – 2mins… The midwives asked if I wanted to go natural… as Bec said… Um no thanks.. I know she is a biggie and I’m not all that big..(just over 5ft tall) so they started to get the ball rolling with the CSection.
By this time I was already 4 cm dilated and they were coming thick and fast. They all seemed amazed about how quick I was going considering this was my first.. I’m like.. Um…Thanks

So they got Ash and I all sorted and off the Theatre for the C Section, they were trying to get the Spinal Block in (oh my god they are amazing! ) and my contractions just would not stop… I was like.. OK NOW ! ( just as Bec mentioned) and they were all giggling at me..which was calming and relaxing.. They wanted me to sit up but just couldn’t do it, so the rolled me over one man holding me in place while I squeezed the life out of his hand (he said I could) and one nurse in front talking to me .. then AHHHHHH a nice numb heavy feel happened from my boobs down… The Nurse said.. oh I forgot to ask why you are here today..I said “hoping for a CSection, if not then a Boob job or Tummy Tuck… They were all laughing with us at how relaxed I was.. even without the Drugs… I was crapping myself to be honest but so so excited. I could see them putting the catheter in (from the reflection of the light) and Im thinking I can seem them moving my legs but can’t feel a thing.. how funny

I felt pushing and pulling and shaking around from behind the sheet… Ash said he thinks they cut me once and then a bit more as they couldn’t get her out..
Then when Brooke came out they pulled down the sheet so we could see her – all the Dr and Nursers were saying.. wow she is a big one.. I looked and went “holy crap!” then they told me.. no you wouldn’t of been able to get her out…

    Brooke Susan Steffensen - borning 18.54 02/02/2013 - 8lb15oz (4030grm) and 54cm long.

Then the normal stuff, they weighed her, Ash cut the cord, we had some cuddles.. Ash and Brooke went to wait for me in recovery, when I was rolled in I was put on a little O2 but all good there..

I was having issues feeding we are now mix feeding via a bottle and still trying the boob.. I was in a shared room so would walk the corridores so the other mum could rest as her bub was in special care.
On Weds Brooked ended up under the "disco lights" with her Jaundice so we had a double room to ourselves for 2 nights.. In total we were in hospital for 5 days.
Hope you enjoyed my birth story
