    Hi ladies

Its been a struggle to get in here...Xavier has had a pretty rough time with Whooping cough, starting at 18 days old when he was admitted to the childrens NICU and spent 2 days there and then spent another 6 days on the ward, we then spent 3 wks at home but after taking him for his first visit to see my brother's kids...he came home with a cold/virus which flared up his whooping cough and 48hrs later we were admitted to Childrens hospital again and spent all of last week in there. We've been home3 days now and i am hoping that another visit to RCH is NOT on the cards for us.
We haven't had a chance to just chill out as a family yet, the first 2mths of Xavy's life have been high stress and I am ready for it all to calm down now. I too have whooping cough so I have been really unwell. Looking forward to happier times ahead.

    Good evening ladies,

Von - so happy that Hugo is home with you and weeing like a champ. I am crossing my fingers that all his surgeries go well. 2 boys is a handful. I'm so glad you get to experience it.

Kazc - I hope this is it for visits to the hospital and you can all recover and relax. What a horrible first 2 months with your little one. I hope it's smooth sailing from here on.

Bambi - Yup, something is working because my boobs haven't been full for months and now they are back to a D cup. They were bordering on a B a few days ago. Getting about 100mls out of the morning pump but haven't tried anything during the day. You did warn me about the cookies. They are delicious. My mother is making me bake her, her own batch

Izy - 32L? My lord I hope your back is okay. You could probably provide me with all the milk I need to return to work and BF K as well as your own.

Mininic - I hope you're in labour and getting ready to meet bub now. Sending lots of labour vibes your way. You have been so patient.

AFU - K is trying to get into sitting position atm as well as trying to crawl on hands and knees. She is getting quite good at dragging herself around though.
Still having very little sleep during the day. Every time I move to put her down she wakes up but once it hits 8pm at night I put her in bed, she wakes up and then is out again instantly. Weird but good. Still not sleeping all night but I'm not concerned. I really appreciate that I am not hung up on getting a set amount of sleep during the night this time. I accept that she will do what she needs to no matter what I do. It sure takes a lot of the pressure off and without clock watching I feel rested in the morning, rather than waking up enough to be aware that there is a clock, let alone what time it says.

    Have a lovely evening everyone

Never thought the day would come when I could join this thread. Have my gorgeous little boy to hold in my arms and I'm so happy. He is doing better than we'd hoped. He was put in my arms at birth and gets to feed from me (although my nipples aren't impressed) and he is weeing like a champion. He will still be closely monitored (he has 3 paeds) but we got to take him home with us. He had his cast put on yesterday (for his gimpy leg) and will have his first surgery next week (for his kidneys) most likely. So far it looks like the kidney issues aren't the most sinister of the options. Still tough going but I think sleep deprivation is numbing a fair bit of it for me. When they came to my hospital room on day one for his first procedure and said 'its time' I nearly lost it.

Anyhow, will try and pop in regularly but he is more time consuming than I thought. Plus his older brother needs lots of attention too.
SO SO SO insanely happy for you Von! How wonderful that u could take him home. Hope the sleep gets better soon and that the surgeries go well etc. Very happy that Hugo is here safe and sound in your arms though!
    Do u have FB?

    Evening lovelies

Kaz - big big for you. So much pain for you and your little boy to go through. I really hope you have turned a corner and get to enjoy regular newborn life together now.

Nic - how is returning to work? I'm guessing it must be tough going.

Bambi - can't believe your baby is 6 months already. So brave with only 2 whimpers for his needles.

Izy - yay for bras! I'm looking forward to my pair settling down and actually getting some that fit - I'm much bigger this time.

MK - love what you said about DD not sleeping through - made me try and enjoy the whole night I just spent up with DS not sleeping. I might as well enjoy gazing at his little face as he'll be grown up so soon.

AFU - big exciting news today after seeing the surgeon - his surgery for next week has been cancelled. He'll just need regular monitoring for now at least and although his kidneys aren't 'normal', they are 'unremarkable'. Looks like a case of long schlong syndrome where his muscles didn't have enough strength to push the urine all the way out. Every health care professional has commented on his middle leg length - it only seems fair to be well hung being as his right leg has issues . Almost certain he'll have surgery on his leg, but that is nothing compared with what we've been through.

I'm sorry but this made me giggle. Way to go on the news. So funny that they've put it down to his length in that dept. I'm so glad that he wont be having surgery so early, if at all for his kidneys. DH must be so proud LOL.

Today DS1 faked a sicky. He had a belly ache last night and acted like it was still bothering him so I kept him home. About an hour after we got home from dropping DS2 off he was all perky and playing with his toys. XDP came over to see K and question him and he claims he was bored at school. Anyway that's the last time I get suckered and he will have to have a pretty high temp or puking everywhere to stay home in the future.
We went and saw Alice in Wonderland and I love Tim Burton's work. He rocks. I love his colour palet in movies.

I've started giving K finger food. And those Mum-Mum rice things. She wolfs those down but not much else. She chewed apple pieces I bought from McDonalds to keep her quiet but did it loudly during the movie. Guess that's the last time I can take her to a movie until she's older.
Anyone else given their food eating bubs the Mum-Mum rusks before 12 month recommendation? This is my third Child so I'm a little lazy with what is recommended. I stick to the allergen foods list and will be spot testing Peanuts on her arm for reactions before I give it to her but everything else is fair game if she'll eat it. Anything else I need to be more careful with?

Time to go lay down with the baby and get ready for Friday. Have a lovely evening and squishy hugs for babies.

MK - I haven't even been game enough to give J many foods at all. She has been eating pumpkin, chicken and sweetcorn and apple, but seems to spit more out than she eats so it is time for persistence.... I can't believe you managed to take in a movie, she must be a quiet little girl (when she's not chomping)

Bambi - Your little X is adorable, I am sorry to report that he is actually making me clucky thinking about trying for that boy that we thought J was for 13 weeks. Any news on your move?? Poor X with his needles, J has hers at 10.30 today bummer.

Izy - I can't believe how big your little X is now, he has filled out so nicely and looks so grown up....he has come so far from that teeny weeny guy he was.

KazC- I am glad that X is feeling better again, it must be so frustrating for you to take ten steps back for every one or two forward with his whooping cough. He is such a little trooper xxx

Smoore - How is R?? hope things are going well with you.

AFM - We went and did a day stay program as J decided that 20 minute cat naps were all she needed during the day and that I should get up from 3.30am to put a dummy in her mouth until 7am every half hour. It made a huge difference and I can't believe I waited so long before getting some help. She is 6 months old already and is in 25th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height so looks like she will be taller and skinnier than me....

Jess - How did things go with O, I hope it all went well for you.

To ShakerMaker, MrsShe, MiniNic (waiting waiting).... hope you are all good. And sorry to anyone I missed. xx

I am pretty sure I am now in labour Woke up with a few pains around 7am and started timing at 7.25am. They have been between 5 and 7 mins apart since then and are starting to get stronger! Havent had a show or had my waters break or anything...but they seem to be pretty regular and as I say, getting stronger! I might give it another 30mins and call my midwife and just give her the heads up. Have sent DP off to work, but told him to be on alert! I really hope this is it - so fricking excited!!! (although am starting to wonder about my drug free decision!!)
