Chix Nix... they were 30c a packet! I wish they still sold them, I would love some right now!

Zooper Doopers, too in summer, and our school used to do frozen orange quarters for 5c!

Funny face ice blcks, Ovalteenies, the lasagne in the foil box, chicken burgers and potato gems with gravy. I loved Icy cups but are they like a country kind of thing in qld. When I moved from the country to a city they didn't have icy cups and my DP has lived in brisbane his whole life and never had them at his school.

Having anything with SARS in the title probably wouldnt sell too well these days!

I loved the Hot Dogs our canteen used to sell. They were just buns with standard hot dogs and sauce but they would wrap them up in alfoil. They were 80c.

Then they sold these cream buns that were yellow bread (imagine the food colouring used - a hyper child's nightmare) but the cream was made using icing sugar or something and it was just devine. 20c each.

Then I would get one of those Mr Juicy triangle shaped plastic packs. 15c each. Lunch for $1.15. Those were the days!!

I remember Funny faces!! We used to get Paddle Pops or Polar Boys at school and each month they would have a random special like Fat Frogs, double Smurf blocks or Funny Faces for something like 40c-50c each.

Oh and who remembers Chicken Cackles?

They were like condensed milk in a waxy yet chalky kind of bar, and you could get them in choc, vanilla and banana..
I used to like them as a kid, but the mere thought of them these days makes me wanna

I always like fish & chip day!! Even though by the time we got it it was normally cold and soggy, was still good
They sound like space food sticks!

Our canteen went health food so all the num stuff disappearred.

I really missed the hand grenade, and sunny boy iceblocks on a hot day.

Mmmmm snips! I really miss snips.....

They brought out these similar things called swings but they weren't as nice as snips.

    Swings just didn't cut it
I still long for a chocolate snip I especially loved sucking the melted milk up the side.

Hot cheese rolls in winter and 'cold cups' in summer (frozen cordial or juice in a plastic cup) in primary school.

I wasn't at high school enough to know the canteen list, but at College they made the best chips and gravy! Although, that could have just been because they settled my tummy!
