Question How would you change Masterchef?

What needs to be changed, fixed, added, removed?

Blind taste tests so that the hosts are not swayed by their personal preferences

    1. Enforce a budget restriction when the contestants are in the pantry. Make them prepare a dish with a cost conscious theme.

    2. One challenge should involve judging the contestants on basics: mashed potato, omelettes, shephard's pie, caesar salad etc. Let's see if they can actually cook the things that most pubs serve up.

    3. Ban the recap

    1. Live finale

    2. Blind taste tests for pressure tests

    3. Basic days like Mocha said - MC UK do Omelette day etc.

However, I have naturally reflected upon this and believe I prefer the Aussie MasterChef format now, compared to the UK, and I also think our contestants have more raw skill than theirs.

    GAH BRING IT BACK NOW

Seriously, what value does Sarah Wilson (host) add to the show? Some of the best segments I've seen in the show were where the host was no where to be seen and the judges steered the conversation. All I've seen her do so far is state the obvious and call people's names

Who is Sarah anyway? - i had never heard of her. Does she have anything to do with the food industry?

I need to be on it, then I need to win.

    That is all.

    Here you go

Sarah Wilson's career has spanned newspaper and television journalism, the food and wine industries, women's health advocacy and women's magazines.

With a fervent zeal for food, restaurants and the hospitality industry in general, Sarah is a natural choice as host of MasterChef Australia. Since leaving her post as Editor of Australian Cosmopolitan magazine in late 2007, Sarah has become a respected social commentator and media identity, specialising in social issues and lifestyle trends. She has a fervent adoration for all things food and takes pride in licking the plate clean.

As host, Sarah will bring her vibrant personality to MasterChef Australia and, with a wealth of experience in both the hospitality industry and journalism, is perfectly placed to guide the contestants through the daily challenges and weekly eliminations that will mark their transformation in MasterChef Australia.

"The type of contestant that will succeed in this competition will be someone with an intuitive understanding of flavours, textures and cooking traditions. It won't be someone who thinks about it too much or tries to be someone they're not. Cooking is something that comes from the heart, and MasterChef Australia only accentuates this further" - Sarah Wilson

    - Less 'Big Brother' / 'Idol' style eliminations.

    - It should always be about the food. It should always be about their total abilities and record on the show ... not just 1 single day/meal.

    - the contestants should be preparing 3 plates if their are 3 judges. (nothing annoyed me more than watching them share a biscuit or desert for one )

    - the ingredient challenge should not be an elimination. Yes pallate and ingredient knowledge is very important, but shouldnt be the reason for going home.

    - NEVER bring anyone back
