    Default AMA ttc

Hi I am 42 years old have 3 boys, 24 yo, 13 yo and a 22 month old. we were pregnant in Jan only to hav a missed m/c in early march. I was 11w3d but baby stopped growing at 5w3d. We would really like to have one more close to the last one, so i have been seeing a homeopath to get all my hormones balanced, she also treats fertility with a particular program. i have been having levels checked, first cycle FSH was 20 on cd 3 and progesterone was 56. 2nd cycle FSH was 25 and progesterone was 65. Can you please tell what this means? I do know that i O every month around the 11 or 12 cd. i don't know a lot about the levels although i do know that my FSH isn't good from what i have read. what does the progesterone level mean?
    thanks
    Debbie

    Hi Debbie,

    Thanks for your question.

It’s great you are being proactive about your situation.

Progesterone is the hormone that prepared the lining of the endometrium in the second half of the cycle (after ovulation) for implantation. You are clearly experiencing some hormonal imbalance at this stage, which can happen as we mature.

Although I greatly believe in the medicinal power of homoeopathy, I have never attempted to reduce FSH levels and normalise progesterone with homoeopathy. Therefore I cannot comment on whether this is the best approach for your to take at this point. However due to the nature of this modality (it is very gentle) perhaps supporting your effort with other modalities may be useful.

I mostly use herbal medicines for this purpose. I’d be interested in how specifically you are tracking your ovulation to be sure you are regularly ovulating. I am glad you are because obviously that will increase your chances of conception.

Furthermore, you may have had a miscarriage for many reasons, which I will not speculate, however, now this has occurred it is vitally important to make sure you are replenishing all the nutrients you may have lost in the process. Be sure to discuss this with your practitioner and remember to nurture yourself for the best possible outcome. You would most likely have a super busy household—remember to take care of you.

In addition, you may like to subscribe to the Natural Fertility Booster—an online publication I publish weekly with lots of great tips on optimising your couple fertility. See my website for more information.

I hope this is of assistance.

    With fertile blessings,
