Thanks cookie. I really have to go talk to the job centres or something to work out what help I can get with the fees. So much help out there with skill training but so hard to find it as they keep renaming it. I only get FTB so I get I can't apply with centre link but fantastic for others who can, very happy that its possible

Actually you don't need to be unemployed to get the free course, it is all part of the govt's Early Childhood Workforce Strategy, the regs are changing to require all child care workers to have formal qualifications and the govt is trying to make that transition easier. The fact sheet is here. As a Director of a centre I know it is becoming more and more inportant to have trained staff, I would recommend anyone wishing to do childcare do this course at the very least. It also counts towards your degree if you decide to continue at uni, I think it takes about a year of your studies (not to mention a few grand off your hecs bill)
Just wanted to clarify that is for the Diploma, not the cert 3, but the cert 3 can count towards the diploma

    hello ladies

Ive just re-enrolled in my Cert III
Was about half way through before i fell pregnant and got really sick so couldn't continue. Unfortunately there has been a complete overhaul in the curriculum so most of the work i've already done doesn't count
Hopefully will be receiving my books soon
looking forward to chatting with you all

    Hi girls!
    Would love to join!
Commenced my Cert III via TAFE in April. Am loving it so far! Started off internally but at 27yrs of age couldn't stand being in a classroom full of 15, 16 and 18yr olds so dropped back to external; am loving going at MY pace and have a really fantastic and supportive lecturer as well
My aim is to have the cert finished by the end of this year, and next year probably look at doing my diploma
