    Default OB/Gyn or GP???

    Hi everyone,

Hubby and I are going to TTC in December this year and I'm due to see my gynaecologist at the end of July beginning August (haven't received my letter with appointment date yet) for an annual checkup.

My question is, should I phone my gynaecologists office and ask for them to schedule me for a preconception check with him when I'm supposed to have my annual appointment or will they say I have to see my GP? Or do I just not say anything and ask him to do a preconception check when I see him for my annual visit? Or do I have to see my GP for my preconception check?

I really trust my gynae and he knows his stuff. I feel really comfortable talking with him and find he tells me heaps at visits - I saw him in the past due to ovarian cysts and endometriosis.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi There Jackyking88,

    Thank you for your question!
All you need to do is to ask you gynae to do a preconception screen for you once you are at your appointment. No need to call in advance and no need to see your GP if you are already scheduled to see you gynae.

I would like to acknowledge you for planning ahead to create the healthy baby of your dreams. Congratulations! Since you are planning ahead, you may like a FREE subscription to my online magazine the Natural Fertility Booster, which you can sign up for at my website.

    Dear Gabriela,

Thanks so much for your message. I have my appointment scheduled for early August and will ask my gynae to do a preconception screen when I see him. He is always so lovely and I'm sure that he won't have any problems with that, seeing that I have seen him a few times and he has always taken the time to see me and answer all my questions, never making me feel rushed in and out of there.

What is your website address if I may ask? I am definitely interested and keen on the free subscription to your online magazine.

    Thanks again.

    Regards,
    Jacky
