Hi everyone, I have only gone vegan in the past 6 months, I'm just wondering, I'm now about to start TTC, is there anything I should take special considerations to with my diet?? And throughout pregnancy (fingers crossed we get that far ) I'm taking an iron supplement and folic acid.

B12 is very important for babies neurological development (I'm not sure whether this is in utero or once they're born or both actually!). Personally I would recommend Floradix, it's a liquid iron supplement that also has B vitamins (unfortunately not folic acid though) in it, plus vitamin C for absorbtion and fruit extracts so the iron doesn't constipate you. It's great stuff.

Good luck on your TTC journey

Haha I didn't need to give you the sales pitch then!

Hmm I've never found nut. yeast to be fishy - just smells kind of salty I guess. I've always used Lotus brand or else get it loose from the co-op. Need to go and get some more today, we go through it so fast!

It shouldn't smell fishy at all. Try it in place of things you'd put say parmesan on such as onto pasta or steamed potato. Really yummy on top of popcorn too. Or it also makes a cheesy flavour in white sauce.

I'm with GreenMama we use Lotus brand here too.

I get it from a grocer near me and have gotten it at health food shops before. Otherwise you can order it from http://crueltyfreeshop.com.au Probably other places online too.

I am totally addicted to my 'scrambled tofu'
Broken up tofu, chopped kale, sliced mushrooms and fresh tomato. Cooked with a little nutalex, nutritional yeast, paprika, dill, salt & pepper. Served on rice cakes.
