hi Schnauzer I did 4 rounds of IUI then 1 IVF thanks to unexplained infertility (its great) 22 wks BFP now

i guess i am asking why you are going a HyCoSy Ultrasound when so far nothing is wrong with you apart from the chemo issues fertility is all ok?
it just seems a little invasive and painful when unless you have a history of problems its not needed

we never had one as no history with me

I just though a would say this as its stressful enough without unneeded tests

hope you get a BFP really soon

    Hi Overitand36,

My GP said the same thing about the unnecessary tests too, but I am going through the public system at RPA where my husband has had all his cancer treatments and haven't paid anything so far, and they have been super nice so I am fine to go ahead and do what they need me to do.

I have a 10 year old DS from a previous relationship, but he was an accident (best accident I've ever had) when I was 17, so I had no fertility problems back then, but who knows what could have happened since I fell pregnant 11 years ago. I did have an IUD in for some time and had a couple of infections, I think the FS is just being cautious to make sure IUI is the right thing to do, as not to waste any precious time. Apparently we have heaps of frozen sperm and it's of very good quality, but we also have to be careful not to waste it, once it's gone, it's gone.

My husband still has cancer, it is terminal but he was told 2 years ago he only had 6 months and now he is doing just as well as he was when diagnosed, so I didn't want to wait around any longer wondering what will happen.

I know I am strong and loving enough and will be in the financial position to be able to raise a baby alone if need be and my son will be a fabulous big brother. I just hope DH continues doing so well and will have plenty of time with the bub when he/she comes along.

Congratulations on your BFP, I hope I will be as successful as you!

    Hi All,

My husband and I just had our first round of IUI. It was a success, but unfortunately I have started to miscarry this morning. This is my second miscarriage. I feel like I have been on an emotional rollercoaster the last few months.

    Hi there,
I am new on IUI too... had my first one the other day so now I'm on the TWW. Part of me is positive and the other part isn't... I've had a couple of m/c's and am kind of used to disappointment each month with no BFPs (my hubby and I have been trying for 3 years and I'm in my mid thirties)... I am trying to have a good attitude though.

Hopeful, I am so sorry about your m/c. It's awful.

    FT

    Hi faerietree ,

Thanks for the reply. Feeling better this week. We saw the doctor and will try our 2nd IUI next cycle. Fingers crossed again.

How have you been coping? We have only told our parents at this stage. I sometimes find not being able to talk about it with my girlfriends hard, but then other times I am glad they don't know so that they don't fuss over me.

Let me know how you go with the IUI. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

just wishing you all best of luck having gone through IUI and IVF myself

MIL was so stupid when finally BFP started asking about next one we said this one cost enough she said oh but it was not IVF we said what did you think seeing a specialist meant - do we need to spell out our sex life I don't think so - keep it to yourself

    Hi all,
I am new to this website too and so glad that i am now using it.
Hopeful 75 i'm really sorry to hear about your second miscarriage. My husband and i have been trying for 2 years now. Got pregnant on my second IUI last Nov , but unfortunately found out i miscarried at 8 weeks (on scan) in Jan this year. Am now 3/4 way through my second IUI cycle this year and now i'm just waiting to get my period tomorrow night/wed morning. I know i should be more positive and in previous cycles i have tried to be. i just don't feel very confident this time as it seems i don't have any of the symptoms i might look out for such as the bloating, discharge etc. I think it's also to try and protect myself emotionally.

Its sooooo challenging to stay continually positive - in fact its not possible and not normal to be when you're going through what we go through. its actually really exhausting to put on a happy face all the time. It's normal to have peaks and troughs of emotions and although everything we have to go through (the appts, BT, hormone tx, etc etc etc) sucks soooooo much and some days you just want to cry all day, you just have to go with it. The best part of it is knowing that you are not alone which is why this website is so great.

i understand what people are saying about their family and friends - it did take me a long time to feel comfortable to start discussing things with my mum and my friends (many of whom were all getting pregnant and have now had their kids - in fact many are now 1 and they will be trying for number 2 soon!)

I hope its time for us soon girls, i really do. I think some of us have been patient enough and i know that there's always worse out there, but sometimes you just feel like you want to be the one who has the luck!!

    Hi Guys,

I havnt jumped on here in ages as TTC has been emotional and thought if i could take my mind off it a bit then it may help....Well i think it did!

I just wanted to say those of you thinking of or actually in the midst of trying IUI...dont lose hope!

We did our 3rd round this time and got our BFP! We were at MElb IVF but swapped to another clinic that just specialise in IUI's and was cheaper! Monash Ovulation Induction Service..the ladies there are fabulous and they monitor you so closely i think thats what helped us! injections scans and blood tests the whole way..

Anyway am 7 weeks now and had our 6.5 wk scan at the clinic and after releasing only the one egg...there appears to be 2 lil beans in the sac!! We have to have the confirmation scan next week but seems there may be 2 babies in there...will wait and see.

My two Hcg levels did seem to be high...does anyone else seem to know if they were high...

    24 DPO -10000

Anyway hang in there and it will work...but if you live in MElboure i can highly recommend that clinic!
