waterlilli I am also thinking the same thing that you are that we are missing the boat

my opks are starting to show before taking the trigger i have decided to book my scan a couple of days earlier this time follicles should still be large enough and then IUI can happen before I naturally O

jconga just checking that I am understanding you have already done IVF but now doing IUI with donor, did you use husband for IVF but sample was not good?

jconga. Wow that is exciting. What a journey you have been on. I think you will find the IUI process a breeze after having done IVF. Oh I hope it all works for you.
Hope you don't mind me asking but are you using the sperm of someone you know or is it annonymnous? One of the other girls on here is using someone they know.

I wish you luck with it all.

Zimby, the nurses said I can stop taking the progesterone. Yay. But she did say my body might throw me around a bit for the next few day. My boobs are soooooo sore and peeing all the time. bit emotional but getting there.

    Thanks for the support already!

For IVF we used hubby through the process of ICIS as the sperm had to be extracted with a biopsy. They said we could try again but each time makes it harder to find. And he is convinced it wont work - and so am I. So we don't want to put ourselves through that again.

For hubby the idea of using an anonymous donor was emotionally daunting but as he has watched my 10 months of anguish of trying to reconcile being childless, he realised that he would have to overcoming his issue.

So we are going to try. PHEW! and Scary. We also live about 6 hours from our nearest clinic. So I am not sure how that is going to effect tests etc.

I see that you still take hormones and triggers to stimulate ovulation for IUI - is that because there is problems with ovulation? Or help to get the timing right for coming into the clinic for the insemination?

Sorry no abbreviations - as haven't learnt them as yet.

Sounds like your hubby is a keeper! I don't know how mine would react to using donor sperm. It must be hard for them.

For the IUI it depends on your cycle and hormone levels as to what meds you use. I had to use peregon cos my Oestrogen levels were too low to mature the eggs. I think eveyone has the Ovidrel to initiate ovulation for timing with the clinic but I am not sure. Either way there are definately less injections and smaller doses in IUI.

I did most of my blood tests at a local clinipath blood colection centre and then had to go in for a scan and then again for insemination. Not like IVF where you have multiple scans. Well not for me anyway. I think everyone is different. Hopefully the distance does not make it to hard. You might find you can do your scans locally then only have to go in for insemination. Not sure.

I have my fingers crossed for you.

I am busy packing up my house cos we are moving in a few weeks and also getting ready to say goodbye to my sister and her kids. They are moving to Canada for two years. I am kind of glad I don't have to worry about a pregnancy at this time. It is going to be emotional enough with out the added influence of raging hormones.

Zimby when is your Blood test? I am so excited for you

hi jconga, good luck with the IUI. Not everyone takes the hormones with IUI I had one completely natural cycle where they just monitored my natural hormones with blood tests, then even when I took clomid on the next cycle I still didnt have the trigger or anything like that. It just depends on whether you ovulate naturally or not.

mumofjay, eeek we are having blood tests on the exact same day next week. Your hubbys sample sounds great to me

jane, I hate moving, its so messy, hope your packing goes well. I bet you will miss your sister but at least its not for ever and you can get a cheap holiday out of it when you go and visit them...lol

    hi ladies,
hope everyone is good- staying patient! I am back for my third and final IUI- thanks for your advice Zimby, I think you were right when you said that it is good to look back and think that you tried everything you could. They have changed my meds a bit this time- I didn't end up saying anything, they just did it because they thought it would be a good idea to try something different too.

jconga- how are you going? i ovulate naturally also but my fs nurses use medication because they have more control over things that way- you also get good egg quality app- and you often ovulate two eggs at a time which increase your chance of success- as long as you don't mind the added chance of twins. where are you up to now?

mumofjay- are you still in your two week wait?

overit- i read one of your posts in an ivf ******- you are doing one more iui before ivf? i think i read that you are changing fs and clinics too? how's that all going?

Anyway, hope I have got all the info correct regarding what everyone is doing. How are you going zimby?

hi waterlili we are in the TWW on the 4th IUI with clomid this time

we have also changed FS and going to do one IVF before end of year and safety net cuts out

been having fun and games changing clinics
MIVF and RHW is like going cattle class its huge and very impersonal compared to City Fertility but the costs at CFC for IVF as ridiculous and PI does not start until April

Hi Girls, Well Looks like we should get another IVF in before the end of the year. I was worried about the timing cos I have to have a month off and then the surgery closes over Christmas but This cycle started before the cut off so we are good to go. I go in on the 23rd November to pick up my drugs and have a scan and then it all begins again. If I have done my calculations correctly then Christmas day will either be the best or the worst day of my life. Jeepers.

MumofJay - Sorry to hear this last one did not work for you guys. Clomid sounds horrible. I hope this one is the charm for you.

Zimby how did you go. I am hoping no news is good news for you. I have been thinking of you.

My sisters kids are having their last sleep over tonight cos they go to Canada on Thursday for 2 years. I think losing them is taking my mind off the whole baby thing for a while which is good but I am just sad in a different way. I will miss them so much.

Anyway take care all of you and I have everything crossed for you.
