    HI Zimby,

All the best for this round. I know (well, this is how I feel) that when it is your last try you hope even more (if that is possible) that it will work. How are you feeling? Will they do any more blood tests to give you any clues about the likelyhood of success or do you just wait until AF. (is this auntie flow that people refer to? AF is period right?) I don't know if this will work for you (i know it's a little left field) but we have done a collage of what we are hoping for. Fathers Day is coming up so it has lots of dad stuff and baby stuff on it. I got my husband to stick pictures on too because I wanted him involved and we have stuck it on our fridge. For us, I hope that this keeps my husband hopeful and motivated to make this round successful. I think the saying is 'see, dream it, believe it.' I will try anything.

Anyhow, good luck, my fingers are crossed for you.

10 years would be a long wait! Luckily that's not the case.
After you have been trying for 9 months - 1 year after starting ttc, you can get your GP to refer you for public treatment. The GP will do prelim tests, and depending on the outcome, the faster you get treatment. It gets confusing lol we don't have medicare here....
They refer you on a points system, the longer you have been trying and the more infertile you are, the more points you get and the faster you get treatment. There are waiting lists for public treatment(IVF and IUI) which can be 1-2 years. But you can pay for private treatment while on the waiting list...which is what we were gonna do, but since we have the spare cash now, we won't bother with the waiting list. Someone else can have our spot!

This countries medical system is sooo confusing, I have been here 6 years in December and I still haven't quite figured it out

    Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let those of you know who welcomed me to the group, that yesterday I got my BFP from the clinic!!! It was our very first cycle of Ovulation Induction with IUI and we feel so blessed that it worked first time for us. Our baby is due on 30th April next year and I go for my first scan on 10th September. we were told that OI with IUI has a less than 10% chance of working, so I was trying very hard not to get my hopes up, but we had success. Having a child with a genetic condition that occurs 1 in every 15,000, I figure that maybe the odds were on OUR side this time.
Anyway, to those of you who are still trying for your BFP, please don't give up hope. I hope each of you gets one VERY soon because you all deserve it!

Thanks for you good wishes, girls. really hope you all get BFPs very soon. Have just come home from the Dr as I've been feeling constantly light headed over the past few days - it seems for the first time in my life, I have very low blood pressure! Nothing the can d about it, but need to keep an eye on it. Think I'll go and have aarest while my little girl is asleep. Remember everyone, stay positive - it can happen!!!

Well Girls, i just got back from my appt with the FS and it is not good news. My DH Sperm is still really low, too low for an IUI or even normal IVF so we have to do an ICSI where they inject the sperm into the egg to fertilise it.
I am absolutly devistated. I kind of knew this might happen but to actually hear it come out of the FS mouth really hurt. Also I have to go see a heamotologist cos I might have a blood clotting disorder that might prevent us from doing IVF. I just can't catch a break.

We are going to try and do our first cycle in October but I have to try and get an appt with the blood dr first. I AM SOOOOO OVER THIS ****!!!!!

Also are you guys aware that the government are trying to change the laws so as of Jan 1st it is going to cost around $4000 more to do each round of IVF? We have to hope the first one works for us!

I really hope you guys are successful this time. I need to hear some good news!!!

Jane, keep strong I know its hard, its like everything comes at once sometimes, just take it one step at a time so it dosnt seem too overwhelming. I never heard of that blood clot thing, how come that would stop you doing IVF? Lets hops its good news for you, sending you some magic dust
Yeah I have heard about the new pricing for IVF, our clinic said its so busy coz everyone is trying to get in before next year, so hope we can get in a cycle or two before then if needed. I'm still in the TTW my last BT is on Friday.

Good luck Jane, hope you get a quick appointment with the blood dr, let us know how you go.

Thanks Zimby, After a good nights sleep I am feeling better. Not quite so angry at the world!
I managed to get an appointment with the blood doctor for the 14th September so that is one good thing. Not sure what is wrong with my blood but the reason it might stop us is that when they do the egg retrieval they have to stick a needle in your ovary and if there is a clotting problem then they won't do it cos it might cause you to bleed too much and cause damage I think. Will know more when I see the doc. FS did say that if I don't normally have issues with my blood clotting after a cut then it should be ok. just a precaution and one more thing standing in our way.

Just rang HBF to find out how much they will cover and of the extra $2500 that medicare don't cover I will only get back $660. I went off at the dude on the phone, poor guy. What is the use of having private helth if they don't cover anything? Oh well. Lets hope we only need one cycle!

Good luck on Friday. Let me know. I have everything crossed for you. Thank God I have you girls to talk to. I don't think I would have lasted this long without you. I am going to Darwin on thursday to visit a friend and have told her to get the wine glasses and panadol ready! Cos after that I can't touch anything. lol

Take care and I hope you give me some good news soon
