Default Desperately needing help with clomid process

I'm really hopnig someone will be able to shed some light on my journey .. I'm getting to the stage where I'm desperately seeking some advice.

I have been TTC my second child for about 4 years now - after two years of not ovulating - I tried clomid with no success. I went away lost 35kgs and then had an operation so my doctor could make sure everything was ok - which is was so I wasn't ovulating because of hormones .. Anyway - gave clomid a go again and my first BT came back at 23 then the 2nd reached 30.

Now I just got my period overnight after a 2nd 34 day cycle .. and I'm heading into my 3rd clomid cycle.

Please tell me why it isn't working - I'm taking 100mg and I just don't understand - I know it takes some couples up to a year and it doesn't help that we conceived our DS first go.

I've put a call into my gyno today to discuss things but I'm just looking for some words of wisdom - some experiences .. some hope .. yes please some hope.

After 4 years I'm begining to wonder if the stork has lost my address

    Holly

Hi chazmum. I really wish I could give you the answer you are looking for, but sadly I am no expert. BUt I have my own experience I can share with you if that might make you feel like you are not the only address the stork misplaced

I came off the pill on my 25th birthday and we TTC for 12 months unsuccessfully. So we went to see a fertility specialist. 5 months of appt's and test later there was no real answer so he got us to try clomid and after 3 cycles we conceived DD. A total of 20 months + 9 months of pregnancy = 2 & a half years to hold our first bubba in our arms.

When she was just 9 months old we thought well if we want to have another one we should start TTC now allowing 12 months to try on our own and then the time to see an FS again plus a few cycles of clomid plus pregnancy would give us a 2 & a half to 3 year age gap between our babies. Great in theory.

12 months later - still nothing. Off to see and FS who insisted on running all the smae tests again. A few months later he decided to tell us clomid would not work (why? I still don't understand to this day) but after another couple of appts I convinced him to humour me and let me try it. After 6 cycles on 100mg and no success he put a stop to it and basically said 'I told you so'. He told us he recommended IVF. So we went off to another clinic for 3 months for a second opinion and had all the tests again combined with another 2 clomid cyles (totalling 8 by now) and he came up with the same answer. Unexplained infertility .... try IVF

So back to the first FS to try IVF. First cycle we got 9 follicles which became 6 eggs which turned into 3 viable embryos. Transferred 1 and froze 2. Unfortunately the cycle failed. 5 months later we thawed 1 embryo and transferred it and now we have a happy healthy almost 6 month old baby boy. He took us 26 months to concieve + 9 months pregnant = 3 years to hold DS in our arms.

There is a 4 year age gap between our babies which was disheartening to begin with but now I can assure you it really doesn't matter. I have to happy healthy children no matter what age they are.

I realise this doesn't answer your question. But I guess I am just trying to say don't give up all hope just yet

Could be hostile cm, basically with clomid it can turn the cm to acidic which kills the sperm the best way to fix this is with a sperm friendly lube or clomid with IUI. You can get tested for hostile cm so maybe ask your doctor about it.
I was on clomid with no success only just managed to ovulate on the 100mg my doctor performed a procedure called ovarian drilling and now i am ovulating on my own so that might be worth a go.
Doctors don't like to do anymore than 6 rounds on clomid as it can increase your chance of cervical cancer and it also thins out the uterine lining.
I would have a good talk with your doctor voice all your concerns and see what he/she recommends good luck
