Bosco- Love the name, it's pretty!

BGBG- Yay for awesome blood results!! Must be such a relief!!

Chook- Hope they sort something out with the house, that sounds very frustrating! Good luck with your results tomorrow.

AFM- Still sick. Worked yesterday and have to work today though. Blah.

    Hello Everyone,

I've been reading everyone's posts for a few months now and have only just got the courage to write something. Silly i know. As you can see i had a miscarriage at the start of this year. Devastated both me and DH as this was our first baby. To make matters worse (you could say) my sister gave birth to her gorgeous son the day before i miscarried. Incredibly hard to deal with but now i realize i was able to spend the very first week of my nephews life and i'm over the moon about that. So after only a month of "trying" (though i wouldn't say we were trying because we were still grieving) i fell pregnant again. Since we found out both DH and i have been stressing that something is going to happen again. Even now almost 17 weeks on i'm waiting nervously until our next scan. I feel awful! I really want to enjoy this pregnancy but always in the back of my head theres this doubt. Is this normal???

Also i just wanted to say thankyou to all of the women on here who have shared thier stories. You all are incredibly strong and just reading your positive outlooks has helped me through such a hard experience.

welcome firstbubby! I do think that what you're feeling is normal. I'd love to be innocent and assume pregnancies are always good. LOVE to, but I can't. But 17 weeks Way to go! You're fast approaching the third semester

congrats 1stBubby and welcome! I think you'll have seen from all of our posts that you aren't alone. I have found that as I feel the bub more, I've become more relaxed. But I still do have moments of panic and find it difficult to really believe it can happen (and hence still haven't bought anything!)

    BGBG - fantastic results!

    Jess -
Don't think my dog is going to appreciate it as I get bigger - we average a 90 walk when I walk him now but the bladder is starting to interfer with that!
I must admit, it is becomming harder to time a walk between toilet breaks! Last weekend, it felt like a small ball was bouncing up and down on my bladder so by the time I got back to the car I was hobbling! I hope she enjoyed herself!

Nic - sorry to hear you're not feeling well.

Does anyone else get restless legs at night? Not quite cramps, but painful enough to keep me awake and stop me from getting comfortable. Anyone have a remedy?

Bambi - I have you to blame for my constant hankering for scones now. That recipe looks really nice!

    Hi 1stbubby
We all will completely understand what you are feeling and going through. You are right, it is normal to feel everything you are and more. Like Izy said, congrats on getting to 17 weeks, that's great news. Chin up hun, we are all here for each other

1stbubby - I am so sorry for your loss. All of your feelings are very normal. I think since we have all experienced the loss of our little babies, we will be nervous until the day we have our babies safe in our arms (the the worry will change into raising them etc etc!) I am nearly 33 weeks and am still worried! I think most of us have had slight, or not so slight, panic attacks waiting for scans!

Are you feeling bubs move? Don't worry if you are not, I only felt my bubs at about 19 weeks, but I know after this time, it was really reassuring.

Jess and Kitz - I know the feeling about loo breaks. I am still swimming laps, and find I have to stop and get out of the pool to go to the loo! Very annoying!!

Nic - Crap about not feeling good. I hope you feel better really soon.

Kitz - I feel your pain sweetie about the restless legs, I have them and hate them!! I had them before I was preggers, but it is so much worse now! I was up pacing around the house at midnight last night, because I find the only thing that eases them is walking - very handy in the middle of a cold night!

Bambi - I have been thinking about scones all of the time too - going to have to get organised and make them!

AFM - My baby shower is this weekend and I am very excited. I am an event manager, so I am normanlly the one who arranges these things, but my cousin has done it all and has not let me do or know anything, so it is a nice change. Also nice to not know what is going to happen. I do not even know the final people who are coming!! She is a sweetie, she was also my bridesmaid and has always been there for me.

    to everyone else!

Congrats 1stBub - You are not alone for sure, I agree with the others and like Kitz, I have bought nothing for fear that I will jinx myself. I am now approaching week 24 and still do the undie check every toilet break. I just can't accept that this bub will be fine although there is nothing to suggest otherwise and every scan has been perfect. I even hired a doppler which eases my mind a lot, if it will help, I would suggest that. As with you, it is our first bub so extremely excited but nervous to the point that I cannot totally relax.

Kitz - I have the same and they are not quite cramps but are uncomfortable all the same. At my pregnancy info on keeping healthy session, the midwife suggested gatorade helps, if you get the powder, just a spoon full in a glass of water, it seems to have eased my legs a fair bit, I was also getting numbness at the top of my thighs too.

Nic - so sorry you are not feeling well, that really sucks, DH has a sore throat and has been coughing so I am keeping well away. Is anyone worried about the swine flu, I worry for the bubs as I don't have a good immune system as I take imuran for my IBD.

AFM - really excited as only two sleeps and we go to see Cesar Millan the dog whisperer. Maybe I can get some tips on how to introduce bubs to the furbabies. It will be strange given Bosco and Mudji (the kitties) have been my babies for the past few years.

    Good luck tomorrow IZY

Its fantastic to read about so many of you falling pregnant again after a miscarriage. Congrats to you all and Im hoping and praying for a happy ending for us all! I promise Ill try and relax and de-stress

I dont think Im feeling any baby movements yet although I dont really know what Im looking for. Im not sleeping properly at the moment so maybe it could be the baby keeping me up. I dont know.

    Not happy jan...
My throat is killing me. It feels like tonisilitis, but I haven't got tonsils anymore so it's impossible! Maybe I should try to get into the dr tomorrow... but at the same time it's only a sore throat!

1stbubby- Welcome and congrats . You will get lots of wonderful support here, these girls have been an absolute lifeline when i needed it most. When is your scan booked for?

Kitz- not sure about the restless legs sorry...I did get cramps for a while but found the best thing was the pull my foot up towards my knee...hurts but stops it right away.

WTK- How are you my dear?

Smoore- Hope you have an awesome baby shower! How great of your cousin to organise it! My sister and my mum did some of mine but I found myself still needing to do most of it so I felt in control...

Bosco- not really worried about swine flu. We had the respiratory specialist come to work and talk to us about it today and basically the only reason the media have made a big fuss of it is because of the fact it is a 'new' virus, and that it spreads very quickly. BUT despite these facts it isn't actually very lethal at all (only 100ish people out of 25,000), and if you got it it probably wouldn't make you as sick as regular flu. Also, you are better off to get it now than in 6 mths time when it mutates.
Having said that the reason the government is isolating people etc is because they are the necessary channels that they need to go through when the virus is still in 'confinement' stage. Eventually most people will get it and there won't be the need for isolation etc.
Hope that doesn't scare you much!

Izy- not good about the sore throat. Hope it goes away for you soon..maybe gargle some salt water?

AFM- feeling a little better tonight, although the cold air is making me cough a bit. Glad todays shift is over and only have a short one tomorrow..then 5 days off then a few more and start maternity leave next sat.
