Yes, it can make things easier and help.

    I agree with that.

But it wont make you happy if there are other issues.

Yes. Money is the only thing left I would like to make me completely happy. I am healthy and my family loves me so that makes me happy but....money would mean not putting my new preppie in before and after school care to work, that would make me happy. Money would mean my partner could visit his sick father overseas who he hasn't seen for 4 years. So yes money would make me happy.

I think it buys you peace of mind where money is concerned, which is really saying something considering it's the number one topic people in relationships argue about.

I'd like to try? Anyone up for funding my little experiment?

I think it actually depends if you keep a level head about it.

If I won a million dollars- I would continue our current life style. I would buy a house for us to live in (modest house- 4bdr). I would than buy a new car and than put the rest into investments. Enough to hopefully fund DS schooling on returns but I wouldn't go out and go on a u-beaut holiday. I would continue studying and put perhaps a smaller portion of what I currently pay in rent into a savings.

I think you've always got to have goals- if you don't, life gets boring! I've got all I need- just not all I want. But that's ok- I have something to work towards.

And I have been at all three steps... 150k+, $0 and a nice average wage!

Bring on the nice average wage any day!

It's easy for most of us to say no it doesnt but I bet the mothers who cannot afford to feed their children or the dads who know their wife is dying for lack of antibiotics would say that yes money would make them very happy.

Not having money in many countries can equal misery and suffering, so while it does not guarantee happyness it can certainly prevent a certain amount of misery.
