Default King Edwards Family Birth centre..

Has anybody birthed there alone, as in, without a birthing partner?

    Hi,

I have birthed at King Edward Birthing Centre but not alone...I can only tell you of my experience. I was well supported by my support team but I found the midwives to be very busy. I had a natural birth one which I look back on with fond memories.

By the way, you so do not have to birth on you own I am a doula in Perth and have supported single mums or women with their partners due to work commitments. The support is provided throughout pregnancy, at the labour and birth, and also post natally. Most women who have a second or third baby realise the significance of continuity of care and hire a doula.

Unfortunately, the transfer rate is high at King Edward Birthing Centre with so many polocies placed on women. The transfer rate is around 50% last time I researched.

Please feel free to contact me anytime regarding any other questions or about my support service. I wish you all the very best!

    Becky

P.s Please do not feel you are alone, I can put you in touch with a range of support services

Thanks.. I have birthed there before, so I do know what I am in for.

I am hoping to do it alone actually but am wondering if the FBC would allow me to do so.

So.. has anybody done it alone at the FBC?

Me and A midwife (as is policy).

I am well aware I can't kick them out of their own facility.

I dont actually have any experience with the centre but I cant see why not.

Especially considering its not a spur of the moment, dramatic change in plans. Just an open minded, educated, strong women looking to have a birth that forfills her expectations.

TBH I think they will be very happy with you. I admire your wish.
