Exclamation 6yo Prep Gang suspended for bashing an older child

A group of six-year-olds have been suspended from a Melbourne primary school for bashing an older student.

The victim, a Year Four student from Heidelberg Primary School, was taken to hospital with head injuries after the four school students wrestled him to the ground on Wednesday.
Assistant regional director Bruce Armstrong said the students continued to bash the boy as he lay injured on the ground.
"Four prep school students were involved with a middle school student and I think they wrestled him to the ground," he told 3AW.
"He might have hit his head and there was subsequent fighting."
The school's principal, Janet Ringrose today said that the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance as a "medical precaution".
"He did blackout for a few seconds so we wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong," she said.
Ms Ringrose said he returned to school the next day and he and his parents had received counselling.
"The child in question is back at school and the others will be back soon," she said.
The four prep school students have been suspended for two days and will return to school on Monday after their parents had been briefed on "re-entry" conditions.
"All parents were quite shocked with what has happened," Ms Ringrose said.
"We're very disappointed that this has occurred. This is a totally isolated incident for our school."
Mr Armstrong agreed it was a "rare and isolated" incident.
"I think it's important that they are integrated back into the life of the school where they can learn about what the appropriate behaviour is," he said.

    Words just... don't cut it.

What are kids becoming these days, they seem more like animals than children...

    I just wonder...

Maybe the little kids got sick of the older kid picking on them as individuals, and someone suggested they all get together????

    I don't know, I just wonder...

I can't see 4 6yo's suddenly jump a 10 year old and then continue to hit them just for no reason.

They're either retaliating (which is expected behaviour), or they've suddenly become vicious little hoodlums (which is very rare for that age)
