Default tubal ligation... how do you know when it's time?

How do you know that you won't regret getting it done?
    I am 25... 3 children...

I just had mine done, wish i didn't. Dont think i would have had more but i am so annoyed at myself because i no longer have the option to. I am 31 with 4 kids (5 births) but because my tubes are tied, i want just one more!

There are heaps of other great contraceptions, so my advice would be to exhaust all other options before getting your tubes done.

I won't be getting it done DH on the other hand *snip snip* but if he doesn't then I will have to.
I just think that two kids for us is enough.

I didn't think they would either Ally but I went and saw the Ob/Gyn and he said if I'm still keen in 6 months time to come back and he will do it
    ...what sort of issues?

I'm having problems thinking about what to do as any type of hormonal contraception just wreaks havoc on my system And I just can't rely on the one form on contraception - I have had failed contraception before and if that happened again I would just die. So even with a tubal ligation I would still double up (yes I'm that paranoid )

There is something now called Tubal Ligation Syndrome because its so common for women to suffer after it ....

Also PMS can be worse afterwards & a hysterectomy is often needed due to it.

    More about it HERE

    Do I look old?

Bugger I thought a tubal ligation was a sorta no-fuss thingo with no common problems...

... this is so hard... I am just so completely paranoid about falling pregnant. Which is stupid really because I actually have no plans to have sex, well, ever Seriously - it could (and probably will be) several years before I actually have sex again but I just want to be certain there's no way I can fall pregnant

I have been considering it to Phin, I hate going on the pill etc, but even now I think I may have to wean Ani & go on something as much as it worries me.

Then again, I went through the births so its DHs turn to endure some pain
