I lost my card with the numbers, but I remember these few:

San Remo packet pastas are better than Continental ones
Coles/Woolies brand peanut butter is better than Kraft

Both the Continental packet pastas & Kraft peanut butter had preservatives/additives that were not so good. Since we changed brands I've noticed a good change in DS's behaviour

I think I will have to find some more natural, but non-nutty spreads lol. I haven't tried dd on peanuts/nuts yet so I don't know if she is allergic. Doubtful though I ate it when i was pregnant etc.

mumto2 - are they preservative FREE?? or do they contain SAFER preservatives??


oh .. and I'm going to add Arnotts Arrowroots to the list - they have only got - flour, sugar, vegetable oil, condensed milk, salt, baking powder and Arrowroot flour. - no preservatives at ALL .

For anyone who's interested - emulsifiers are basically thickeners - and there are several different kinds. Some emulsifiers are made from soy, some from other things.

I've also recently found out that the food labelling laws in Australia mean that any product containing a major allergen (milk, soy, wheat/gluten and nuts are the main ones) HAS to be labelled thus - ie its not enough that it says it in the ingredients, it must say "Contains milk, wheat and soy products" or similar.
