Default 28 wks into a non viable pregnancy....

    Hi there,
I don't really know where to start or what to say but I will give it my best shot.

I am currently 28 wks pregnant and found out at 22 weeks that our baby has major kidney problems with left being echogenic and the right with minimal output and blockages. This was just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. We also found out that there is only pockets of fluid around the baby meaning that lung development will not happen. The specialist advised me to be induced and to go to a tertiary institution to have a more accurate ultrasound. This we did only to be advised that I have placenta previa and they would prefer me to go full term due to complications that may arise if the placenta is ruptured and I haemorige. So here I am, not having any idea of what may happen when the time comes. I have been seeing two specialists as I'm located in remote Qld and have to travel to Townsville, one has been telling me that I will need a c-section the other saying I should do it V. I am going back to my original home town in two weeks to get another opinion and find out exactly what they prefer to do.

I am lucky enough to have a happy and healthy 4 yo son, via C section and a very understanding husband.

The doctors have told me that it would take a miracle for the baby to survive, so emotionally we have prepared ourselves the best we know how for the worst scenario.

I understand that everyone's different but I would love to hear from anyone that has been in a similar situation (placenta previa, kidney problems, non-viable pregnancy etc).

    Thanks for reading.

I am so sorry how scary

I do know a person who had twins born at 27 weeks one of the babies had no fluid around him at all every now and again some would generate but then as soon as it came the waters broke and they were back to him having no fluid. They also told her the twins both had holes in the heart. they both left the hospital at 34 weeks gestation fighting fit and only one of the boys had to have surgery on his heart. She was also told to abort but she didn't and she is so glad now. I always believe there is hope and miracles do happen. I hope one happens for you as well.

to you sorry one of mine was a slightly different case..

One of my bubba's had a hernia, heart attached to its stomach a leg didnt form right and so on.. My doc decided the chances of survival were slim and even if bub survived he or she would have been in hospital pretty much all of its life.. so they did a D&C before it was classed as a still born...

Now many pregnancies later i have a baby girl 9 months and due to give birth to a baby boy in 3 months.... MY mum lost 6 so i knew we may have a problem..

On the plus side my sister was never suppose to make it she was born 12 weeks premie at 3.5lb and now has 2 children of her own again miracles can happen
