    Should have guessed.

But that is great for women in those areas.

I just found out that it is a new thing started only a month or so ago.

Of course though, having a previous c/s (never mind a successful vaginal birth afterwards), they wouldn't take me into their program, or even let me into their stupid birth centre
Give them a ring Zoe and talk to them. Ask to speak to Carolyn, she is lovely...actually they all are.

Nothing of use near me... though that comes as no real surprise...

Would anyone know who to contact if you want to get homebirth funding on the agenda? I've been thinking about writing a letter... but have no idea who to send it to. Would be great if many other women could do the same thing at hte same time too...

    Right on SassyMummy!

If you read this list, and think not good enough, I need something in my area, use this list as a basis, and write to the local hospitals, birthing centres in your area, asking them when their midwifery led programmes offering homebirth are going to be up and running, and send copies of your letters to your local MP, to the Minister of Health, and to the PM.

Lets get some consumer pressure going

Queensland has been known to be very behind on many things. I wouldn't have been suprised if homebirth was the 'norm' in Qld and they were just moving to hospy births to get in line with other states.

Homebirth isn't my choice but happy to support any woman for whom it is.

    Nothing in Vic huh?
Do you mean they fund a team of midwives/midwife?
You don't get as much say though as if you employed your own midwife, is that right?

That's right, there usually are restrictions, unfortunately.
